What do you think the best clone is, infinite, tobecco?

From what I've read here, neither. Some reports of connectivity problems with Infinite (positive screw doesn't stick out far enough). On the Tobeccos, some can't get the bottom of the base off.

The Pallas from Focalecig seems to be the overall best one.

I don't know what mine are, but nearly 7 months later, still working fine. In the beginning the threads were a little crunchy. The afc ring is a tad off so the entire airhole doesn't show wide open, but only a tiny bit is blocked. The base is a hair small so the ceramic cups don't go in and out as easily as the authentic. But, all in all, I enjoy them very much.

Well I couldn't find a pallas and didn't want to wait for the slow boat from china so I picked up one on fleabay. It looks like the one on FT, supposed 1:1 clone. Well it ain't LOL. Its chimney was already drilled out. But honestly I can't tell a difference. Built it the same as the authentic. As long as I build either one to sustain 18-20W at 410F, flavor is great.

I haven't had any problems with my Infinite Rose clone , it's definitely higher quality than the one I got from FT but I've been considering getting the Hcigar version . http://www.smokenmist.com/product/rose-v2-stainless-steel-tank-clone-hcigar/

So I've been using the same twisted 28g coil for about a month in my Rose and starting to get a fair amount of juice splatter, going straight up through the chimney and mouthpiece. Is there a simple fix for this besides making a new coil? I was thinking about putting a thin piece of cotton on top of the coil but worry that it will dry out too much -- or lightly stuff a small bit of cotton into the top of the chimney, but that would probably block the draw too much, which is already tight.

Try tightening the juice flow control first , the only time I get splatter is if the atty being overfed .

Well, that worked. The simplest solution is often the right one.

I've been keeping the JFC wide open ever since getting dry hits when I had it closed even a little bit, but I've since gotten a lot better with my wicking technique.

    Thanks again!

I'm using a split rayon wick in mine running 100%VG , I usually open the JFC to the point I get gurgle and splatter then backoff a half turn , the Rose is awesome for running high VG liquid in . Glad that helped .

Haven't tried the split wick technique yet, sounds good. I decided to rewick anyway for regular cleaning and to try a new flavor, and vaping it with the JFC as open as it can go... no splatter at all, for now at least; evidence to me that wicking technique can make a big difference, no matter what kind of build.

I think you'll find it can exceed the Kayfun 4 in flavor as well with the right build , even the Grand Poobah of longwinded vape reviews had to admit it despite doing some dumbazz things with the build . :) Oh and welcome to the club !

    Thanks retic1959 for the Welcome!

I will have to watch his video, I didn't know he did one on the Rose.
I have a 3mm 28g 1.8 ohm coil in it now at 20W split wicked with Japanese cotton. I find the 28g a little flimsy to work with for a tight micro coil down in the cup so I was thinking 10 wraps of 26g on 2.5mm wicked with Rayon. I am brand new to the Rose and the Kayfun V4, the best flavor atty I have right now is a dual mesh Origenny.

Didn't go through this whole thread yet, is there a popular flavor build everyone is using?

I'm not sure what everybody else is using , but I've gone through a range of builds , horizontal , vertical , 24 , 26 ,28ga , twisted wire and I've settled on 5 wraps of 26ga horizontal contact at 2.4mm , ohms out at .7 ohms , wicked with a split rayon wick . I'm using mine on a Stingray X and a black copper Stingray . The Bombacious one said he couldn't see anybody subohming a Rose , he should Skype me if he wants to see it done . :)
