Love the Scissors actually, I use fiskers at the moment that have a bottle opener on them and comes with the sharpener in the case...they are I believe the multi purpose sheers that they have at wal-mart for like 12 bucks or something.

As for the Rayon vs Cotton here is what I've found...
Rayon is closer to a soft paper in wicking and material, it will draw the liquid faster through the fibers just by the nature of how its made. Also Rayon draws from the inside of the core out unlike cotton that draws from the outside in, one reason I like rayon is its nearly impossible to burn the wicking because the center core stays wet even under high heat.

Cotton draws from the outside in, its closer to fabric then paper in its absorbency and wicking properties. This makes it an ideal candidate for carto style builds. Though cotton and rayon both expand the minimal movement of the material itself should not really affect the wicking properties of your build.

You can use both interchangeably however the how is where it becomes a problem, I'd try micro spacing the coils if no space at all to build a "Wall" for the juice, try only packing around the coil and leaving space off the base of the mod which may help. Lets post some ideas on maybe how to resolve this issue if anyone has played around with it, I've given you everything I've got on this topic as I don't do kayfun style atomizers unless its the Goblin or SilverPlay personally.

so I machined my rose v2 clone today. I originally bought it to see if what I have in mind would work before I cut up my original and in machining it I was able to tell that the clone uses higher grade SS on some parts but low grade stuff on others.

the plain tank rings and the afc ring are better stainless. makes sense because these parts are made from tubing, not solid stock. the pieces that are made from solid stock is the lower 510 cap and the whole main deck and the upper tank cap and of course the chimney. these parts are made from a lower grade stainless so it's much easier to machine and cheaper. the original is all high grade ss.

anyway I machined the rose down as close to 21mm as I dared to go so it matches my WE2 better, also machined the airflow ring to flush and I also cut some metal off of the top cap and shortened the drip tip a bit... no idea why there is so much excess metal in the rose upper cap but it makes the atty so much bigger and heavier than it needs to be

here is a side by side of original vs the cut down clone. because it's just raw machined you can see the difference easier in the stainless steel. the atty looks so much smaller like this with no loss in capacity, no idea why they made it so bulky. my mod was so top heavy before, it feels much better and more balanced now just by eliminating all that excess material in the cap

I am in the process of selling everything I have, as some may have seen in the classies...and I have a long way to go. The only tanks I am keeping, because I have settled on them as the only thing I need when not dripping, are my 2 Roses. The first was the big V2 with the added stumpy kit, and the other a new and identical Rose V2-S. The flavor is fantastic, they never leak, I can clean at work and never spill a drop of juice, put just about any build in there I can dream up and plane travel is a snap...doesn't leak. To me, it's the best RTA out there for me and all I need. I have been vaping since 2009 and been through almost every tank including Kayfun 3.1 lite and lite plus and v4, Russians, Spheroid, heron, taifuns, several gennys, prometey, squape old and new and more than I could list. For me, all I need are my Roses. One has a nickel build in it and the other kanthal. They just work for me. Rewicking is bit tricky but you get used to it, that's the only negative and that's subjective. I looked at all the stuff I had amassed over the years, and all the hype I fed into, and decided no more hype, the Rose is it for me. Unless Andy and Lee make a better Rose, I'm done buying tank attys. RDAs? Well that's another story. The hype still gets me from time to time :D

Question for you owners of the Rose: using the "Rose" logo for orientation, what side of the base is your airhole on, the "R" side or the "e" side?

I've not paid attention. I'll have to look.

I'm also not sure why it matters unless some of the clones are different than the authentic? I have both, but its not like I have every clone to see if they are indeed different.

Roxynoodle is right, It's on the "R" side of "Rose"…yup. Is it backwards on some of the clones?

Why do you ask?

My first Rose, which I bought a few months ago and love dearly, has the airhole on the "R" side. I just received a second that has it on the "e" side. Big deal, right? Well, it is. In that position the airhole winds up being obstructed by the semicircular protrusion on the upper insulator, restricting the draw significantly. To illustrate, the draw on the "e" side version fully open is like that on the "R" side version fully closed. I had seen this once before and assumed it was a cloner's mistake, but I actually just received this second Rose directly from Eden Mods, so there's no question of it's being authentic...unless they're selling clone parts as genuine...which might actually be profitable...

I looked around on the web and saw examples of both in reviews of authentic Roses, so I emailed Eden Mods to ask if they were indeed placing the airhole indiscriminately and to explain why that would be a problem (tactfully, I assure you). I'll let you know what they say.

In any case, the fix is simple: to cut off a wedge of the protrusion with a razor blade. Yet I wonder if this might have caused some of the complaints about the Rose having an overly tight draw.
