A Rose build I did for the Rayon Thread, I just love the full SS tank and no worry or when it runs dry.

Built with a 0.4 ohm 26g Ti Coil.

Rayon pulled through the opposing juice channels.

Wick is split in half to fill both juice channels. They must have designed it with two channels for use with a silica wick folded in two, since the Rose is from that era.

Wick trimmed to the edge of the chimney threads and primed with juice.

Tank filled, juice control adjusted till you just start to feel resistance then backed off 1/4 turn.
Vaping very nicely at 450F/35J

I just love the full SS look

I realize this may be sacrilage but I have a clone rose v2 as I'm poor but if ins the airflow too restrictive . I guess my question is has anybody ever drilled one out ?

You would probably have to the chimney, too.

Hey, if you're going to put an atty in a drill press and go to town, I would definitely suggest using a clone for your test :). At least if there's a goof, you can get another one.

A lot of us in this thread have clones,.and so far we've all gotten along. Hopefully it stays this way. Two of my three are clones.

I'm actually quite surprised with the quality of this atty ..it's so heavy and came really clean. I think I'm going to give it a go and see if it works a bit better otherwise it'll sit on the shelf .

Add me to the list of clone owners. I've been in Chicago all week for technical training and finally decided to look up where some local vape shops are that were close to where I'm staying. Found one a mile away that advertised a Tobeco Rose V2 clone for $10, so I went and scooped one up to try. I thought it was a great deal even if I didn't like it. Gave me something to do in the hotel room and this particular clone came with all the tools like the original.

First impression: Even as a MTL vaper I find the draw restrictive. IMO, it looks like the hole in the chimney stem is the bottleneck and appears smaller then the openings in the deck and base. I may try and drill it out on a drill press this weekend.

I originally built a spaced coil wicked with cotton, but ditched it this afternoon for a 27ga 2.4mm contact coil. Seems like my spaced coil maybe didn't leave enough reserve in the wick and started getting a slightly burnt taste if my draw was to long. The contact coil is a little shorter in length and seems to be doing better.

My big question is about wicking: My method has been to split the tails and cut them flush at the deck. It seems to be wicking well. If I pull the deck out, it's always saturated, but it just seems like the flavor isn't as fantastic as I was expecting. What am I missing? I'd be open to build suggestions. All I have is time here. ;)

Here's my super speedy, super sloppy guide to Rose builds. The vertical opens the airflow compared to horizontal builds.

Did you know it has juice control? You shouldn't get a burnt hit once you dial it in.

Thanks for that! Your split wick build is exactly what I've been doing. I think I'm going to take your advice and put a spaced coil back in it tonight and just do fewer wraps to keep the length a bit shorter. Although, the flavor from my current build seems to be improving the longer I use it.

I've been using spaced for awhile. But, I can manage a restricted lung hit.

I tend to like 7 wraps of 27g and I like 2mm coils as well for more airflow. When I build horizontal I use the single diagonal wicking due to the small coils. I also use rayon. When I tried cotton, it swelled and choked off my air.

If you look at the base, the airflow tube up through the deck is less than a 1/2 mm away from the positive post wall, there is just nothing to work with. You could move the hole but then you would have to get rid of the ceramic cup and that is a key feature of the Roses flavor.

Dave Modz does an excellent video about the Rose V2 and I think he explains about not being able to modify it in this video. A much better example of how to build it than that Busardo comedy of errors.

Sacrilege to let a Rose sit on the self unused... I have two as daily drivers as well as a KFV4 and an FeV V3.
