Just got a kayfun lite plus in, my first rebuildable and I am Loving it. Then I found this in stock Kebo Russian 91% rebuildable atomizer system . So now I am going to get one of these too. Based on what Ive read I cant pass it up.

I got my KFL+ yesterday and although it's great, I like my R91 better because of the adjustable 510 pin and the airflow control on the side. I have another R91 on the way in a few weeks and I can't wait to polish it up.

I boiled it first, then washed with dish soap, rinsed with hot water, and set it up. It tasted awful, so I did it all again, still awful!
Then I let it soak a few hours in isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) and rinsed thoroughly in hot water, and finally no more machine oil taste! Mine may have been an extreme case, but that sucker was COATED with machine oil when I first got it. I actually contemplated getting rid of it before the alcohol bath cause I couldn't figure out why it still tasted nasty and I was tired of wasting juice. Not anymore though! Hope this helps :)

I just got mine out of the mailbox. I swirled it around in hot soapy water but I think I'll let it sit in alcohol before I use it. I does still smell a bit oily/machiney. The finish is as I expected..different. It doesn't match my provari rings but that's not really an issue.

Did you soak everything? Orings and the clear window too?

I remember my rsst had a funny taste.. I dipped the tank section in alcohol, rinsed it and the odd/funny taste was gone. I've recommended this several times and everyone reported success.

one hour later...

I soaked it in alcohol for a few minutes and rinsed in hot water. This thing was a beast to install the coil due to those tiny capture screws! My 28g wire did not want to go under the screw and stay! The platform that the one screw was attached to kept wanting to turn askew. I'm not so sure that this thing has an adjustable 510 connection... but I did have to turn it out far enough to get a good connection to the provari so it would fire. But I felt like the more I ran the connector screw out, the less stable the platform was.

The adjustable draw is kinda cool.. but I like the draw my kayfun lite gives so I've pretty much just ran the screw to where the draw is the same as the kfl. I'm not so sure about the finish. It wouldn't be an issue if the proring was the same finish but it's not. It vapes fine.. the same as the kfl. The loose platform has got me concerned.

three hours later...

I figured out why my platform was so loose.. the 510 connection IS adjustable but there is a shaft inside the base that is separate from the 510 screw.. that shaft screws up into the platform. I took out the shaft.. took the 510 screw out of the shaft.. screwed the shaft up through the platform and tightened it down and then put the adjustable 510 screw back in.. :) I'm happy now

Got mine today from VT, looks nice, box is nice. It is big, but so is my Ithaca. I'm going to clean it up with some soap, vinegar and very hot water. Loose screwdowns like donnah mentioned is concerning. I'm heavy into drippers now, (how things can change in 31/2 months!) so in no big rush to set it up. Will just take my time and get it right.

Also got my VT russian today. Very nice and no blemishes. First build is a bit meh... but that is because of my coil set-up. Good thing it's crazy easy to build.

One note: After a good soapy cleaning, upon close inspection, I found a couple of remnants of the machining process. Both were hiding within the inner threads. The big one almost looked like it was supposed to be there!

If your just getting your factory fresh Russian it might be good to do a full inspection before your first assembly.

I arrived home this evening and was greeted by a package from VT USA. :)

(I need to sand that shstuff, I know.)

Anyway, I ordered 2. The first one was pretty much perfect, the pick of the litter. The second one...was not included in the shipment. Hopefully John will get me sorted out sooner or later. I'm not in any hurry.

Anyway, the first video I saw comparing the R91 to the KFL asserted that the R91 has a whistling sound. I call bs. If anything, it sounds like when you stub your toe and you're about to swear, but there are kids around so you can't say what you'd like, and all that comes out is "Ffffffffff!" That's what the R91 sounds like.

Now since the KFL in that video didn't have variable draw, comparing their noises was pretty much apples and oranges. However, I do happen to have a Kayfun 3.1, which does have variable draw. My 3.1 sounds like when you've had a cold and your sinuses drain a little, but the heat has been running and the air is really dry so your sinuses dry up, and every time you breathe through your nose the whistle is a little embarrassing. That's the 3.1. That's what I was apprehensively expecting with my R91, and what I'm relieved it doesn't have.

Anyway, no machine oil taste here. I just soaked in hot water in the sink for a couple minutes, then dried with some tp. Wicked and wired it, filled it with some freshly mixed cheesecake diy, and it's absolutely amazeballs!

Edit: as you can see in the pic, I'm not using the stock mouthpiece. Not sure whether that is why I get no machine oil taste with my lazy initial bathing.

I just soaked the metal parts and the hard plastic insulators. Also the O-rings that were in the initial build. The clear tank I left out cause I didn't want to take a chance clouding it up. Works great now and flavor in spades! Got a .9Ω micro w/ cotton and couldn't be happier with the performance.

hey puchox,

I cancelled my Kayfun 3.1 from ChinaBuye because they said it should of shipped by now but still hasn't. So, I'm going to get a Kayfun Lite clone from Eciggity. At least it has both the plastic and metal juice part.

Kayfun Lite Clone - Eciggity

Thx for the heads up, i was thinking the same today. I'm gonna give them until tomorrow but if they don't ship it tomorrow i'll get another one from ebay. I already bought one from a seller that ships internationally :)

Finally received my R91 from VT, well one of them at least. I ordered two but only received one. Airflow and afc work better on R91 than my ehpro clone w/afc. The only complaint i have with the R91 is that the afc screw hole is off center and really close to the top of the base wall. It doesn't seem to effect performance so i guess it's not that big of a deal and the rest of the build quality is better than the ehpro.

The ehpro clone only works well for me if i completely remove the afc screw and make sure the hole in the center post is lined up with the afc screw hole. It didn't work right for me until I used a flashlight to align them. The hole on center post of the R91 is higher up. You can't see it through afc screw hole no matter how you align it. Luckily it doesn't seem to affect airflow, which is great on the R91. I'm guessing the inside of the decks are different.

I think the ehpro clone is worth the cheaper price, i ordered a second one, but the R91 is all around better, imo. I'm glad i got in on the VT order before they raised the price and am hoping they can send me the second one i ordered.

Edit: i forgot to mention, on the ehpro i had to use a drip tip with a wider air hole than the one that came with it while the stock tip on the R91 seems to work fine.

Having issues with wicking bobas... I have my micro coil/cotton on my r91 and seems the wick cannot keep up with how thick my juice is. It's a .7 ohm of 26ga nichrome.

I had this issue with my kfl+. It started out great, then I decided to adjust the AFC to a more airy draw and got a few semi dry hits with the cotton. Kind of ruined the taste even though it started wicking better after I tightened up the draw.

I have had mine since Saturday and have gone through several builds already. I have a kfl, nautifun, and ehpro clone, and to me the 91% is too airy for me. I don't get the flavor and TH I get from my kayfun. I guess if you enjoy protanks, this would be great. I can adjust the AFC but it does nothing but add resistance while adding an annoying noise. Even with the ehpro I get a better flavor. I can only guess it has to do with the enlarged chimney air hole.

I've been vaping it nonstop hoping I would get used to it. Over 3 months of waiting and I'm just not impressed. I almost wish I would have just canceled, got a refund and got another kfl. It's only saving grace is that it has brought life to my im-roller due to the simular finish.

This is not a knock for anyone who is enjoying it.

I've got bobas in one of mine. I've got a 1.6 30g coil using sugar n cream cotton yarn going. Definitely had to tighten up the air flow almost all the way.

A common cause for lack of flavor is that the wicking is too thick. Are you doubling up your wick? Try not. Is your wick 3mm or thicker? Try unwinding and removing a strand or two before coiling.

Or maybe it's a loss of power efficiency. Try one fewer turn in your coil. Make sure your 510 screw is exposed a hair beyond the outer collar and is making proper contact with your battery mod. Try exposing the 510 screw a half turn more so it screws down more securely onto your mod. If your mod has an adjustable 510 pin, screw your R91 onto your mod all the way, back it off a quarter turn, then adjust the mod's center pin up to meet the R91. Tighten the R91 back down onto the mod again, and you should have as solid an electrical connection as you can get.

I agree with Krizzell. The dimensions inside the chimney of the R91 are identical to the KFL / +.
