Do you guys feel like you are always trying to educate people in your circles of friends and family about your e-cigg.. I feel the need to pitch it to most of my smoking friends now that I have tried it and several variations of ways to do it..

So far I have converted 1. My best friend just placed his order.. Should be vaping by the weekend.. Thanks to me being the Genny pig he knows exactly what will work for his needs. Seeing as he is on the road 8-12 hours a day he went with the ego and xl cartomizers.. A drip tip and LR atty for the morning coffee vape, then out the door with the cartos..

I have 2 other good friends one of which has throat cancer.. I am pushing it on these guys too, I let them both try it out with several flavors and of course the one with throat cancer is hesitant.. But I think he will come around..

So how many have you educated or converted?? Did what you learned through trial and error greatly help them off on the right path?

i've gotten two coworkers to switch (both are very happy) and i am actually about to meet up with a friend who smokes 2 packs a day and can't afford it. im hoping when he tries my device (ego, lr atty, drip tip) he will "see the light". Like you said, I did all the footwork so he can avoid all the research and start up money. If a 3.7v w/LR atty and 26mg doesn't give him enough oomph, than i would wager he's a lost cause. I find what sells this idea to people is passion. My friend has known me for years, and we've smoked thousands of analogs together. He's interested because i was so excited telling him about it. I think most smokers really WANT TO QUIT. They actually like to smoke, but culture, money, health, and all the other cons to smoking make us feel guilty for continuing.

so #1 seller: you are excited to quit and want to share your excitement with other smokers you CARE about.
The #2 seller seems to be MONEY. after my schpiel about the e-cig, my friend replies, "so you say it costs 1/3 less??". Now, mind you, I mentioned no carcinogens, i mentioned no tar, no carbon monoxide - but first question was "but its really cheaper??" if you guys are like me, i was continuing a habit i honestly could not afford, but its amazing how you make it work even when you don't have any money.

so i am gonna try and convert him. once you get someone over that initial hump of disbelief that something cheaper could replace the analog, without giving up smoking, its all downhill. Good luck!

I don't pitch it much because I think it speaks for itself. Time will tell. During my first week of vaping, I had a disgruntled wife and mother in law, telling me that it was very expensive and marketing hype. After a week of quitting smoking, I had an extremely happy wife and a mother in law, who now after 50+ days reveres vaping and has huge respect for it.

Co-workers are wowed by my magic ability to quit smoking, and I of course tell them how. No more hourly smoke breaks during meetings.

I find where I stay people look at me in amazement when I vape. I've had people come up to me and ask me questions, and then I explain to them how it works, and tell them a bit about it, but that is my pleasure.

I don't like thinking about it as a sales pitch. I guess mainly because I think salesmen will tell you anything to sell you stuff, I'm not selling anything and only relay facts.

Good points...

My friend who ordered today wants to quit.. His wife however enjoys smoking and defends it to a degree..lol... But he's like me I can sit in a room full of smokers and it doesn't bother me one bit.. So he will quit, and eventually shw will too..

Money tends to be the biggest thing for the ones I have explained it to... I just tell them 100 bucks gets you going and your gonna spend about 20-40 a month in supplies for a while..STILL much less than 4.50 a pack x 30 days per month...Money quickly becomes no longer such a big deal..

I pitch these things so much I should get paid for it...LOL, By the way I work in retail sales, so It's kinda Natural for me.

Truth is I have to go outside to use my PV at work, and I go to whats called at work "The Smokers Pit" Usually I'm just out there and one of the other smokers will start asking me about them. I have converted one co-worker so far and a few others are seriously looking into it. Believe it or not alot of them have heard of the potential ban and are scared to try them because of it.

my answer to ban: find a local supplier - these guys are in for the long haul, even if it means going underground. They won't be able to ban the devices as much as they will the premixed liquids. Or you may just have to order juice like we used to order wippits ie: "may i please have a box of whipped cream refill cartridges?"

The way I figure it is by the time a ban came about you have already kicked 80% of the smoking habbit.. and if you drop your doses of nic avery few orders of juice you caould walk away if they ever ban it... I doubt very seriously it gets banned... Studies will be done and taxes will be applied to nicotene products like the patch, inhalers and vaper juices...

Vaping is a win in my book, it takes the harm out of smoking..

Vaping is definitely a winning habit to use to replace smoking. Doctors are coming on board and I expect the AMA to at least say that it is a better alternative to smoking than continuing to smoke cigarettes. I have tried to stop a couple of times and did for almost 3 years one time, but started back during a stressful phase.

I've educated a lot of people, and very recently converted 4 with 2 more getting ready to make a purchase. People tend to ask me, "what the heck are you smoking?". I tell them it's "one of those electronic things."

I tell 'em it's cheaper, tastes better, I smell better (to others and I can smell things), and has no tar or carbon monoxide. Sometimes it's hard to get them off the nicotine=addiction=death. I just tell them "it's not the nicotine that kills you, it's the other junk." or "I'm still addicted, but weaning down the nicotine and it's a much less risky habit than smoking."
