Instructions work perfectly! Smoktech Vmax User manual.pdf
Oh jeez this thing

The push of power it has even at low voltage is amazing and all info is available at the touch of a single button.
3.3 ohm units are taste factories as I roll through the voltages. I can dial in the complex subtle nuances of my juices at will.
No matter what I put on it it blazes. I got an amp monster, I just love it so far.
This is what I wanted and this is what I got. Looks like the wife will get my Provari.

Does that mean you like the VMax better than the Provari? I would have thought the Provari would do everything the VMax does. Though I can understand the higher Amp rating of the VMax might be better suited for the Dual Coil Cartos than the Provari.

Hey Puffy - flavor is the main thing I want to maximize now that vapor production isn't problem any more. Can you tell me exactly what kind of cartos those are? (Make, single coil .... ) Haven't heard of 3.3's; are those 3.0's or 3.5's that just happen to measure 3.3?

Also, did you get your "5.0" problem sorted out, and if so did it look like it ws a problem with the unit itself, or ....gulp .... user error? Thx.

My First Variable Voltage Mod is the V MAX. I have been using it for about 10 days.

The menu clicks with the button take some getting used to, a bit of a learning curve.

I use a Jugz Tank with a triple punched 3 ohm flanges cart and plastic drip tip.

I go through 4ml of juice, 60/40 pg/vg, 3.0 volts, before needing to switch out the batteries

unit starts out at 8.4 volts battery fresh off the charger.

Unit firing at 3.0 volts it stops working at a load voltage of 6.0

Right now the battery charge is at 7.7 volts at no load
output volts set to 3.0 when I fire it up the battery voltage drops to 6.8
output volts set to 6.0 when I fire it up the battery voltage drops to 6.8

Glad to answer any other questions

Here's a link to friend of mine's thoughts on the VMAX

Im finally back freddie, stupid landscapers cut my cable for TV and internet while they were fixing one of my sprinkler heads. Anyway, I have a provari V1 and V2 and I have to say since I've got the chrome VMAX a month ago both of my provari's have not been touched. Then I got the Black VMAX and now my chrome VMAX is only used when Im at home. But remember this is solely my opinion. I just like how small and powerful the Vmax is. It fits almost too perfect in my hand,it's just comfortable.

Is it smaller than the V2? I have the extension on my V2 and I couldn't imagine holding something smaller. In fact, without the extension, the V2 feels awkward in my hand. I guess my hands are on the larger size.

Also, can you compare the two in terms of build quality? I know the Vmax hasn't been around as long as the V2 and you won't know if it's internals are as well made as the V2 but just in terms of the overall feel.

I'm not VAP of course, but I just compared both side by side. The VMax is noticeably slimmer, which sounds odd since they both take an 18mm battery (or should IMO). Yet the tube walls of the V2 didn't seem inordinately thick, and the walls of the VMax didn't seem all that thin. I'd have to study them both a lot more closely to fully understand what the deal there truly is. As I remember it, the VMax is also a bit longer than a V2 without an extension cap.

I like the feel of the VMax better, and the way a 3.5 DCT tank looks on it; they're almost exactly the same diameter. I think the build quality of the VMax is great, and it doesn't seem any less solid (or any lighter) than the ProVari, although only time will tell if it can take the kind of knocks that the V2 apparently can.
