Since I'm almost pathologically interested in surviving whatever government-sponsored Vapegeddon might be on the horizon, I've been looking at this whole rba thing as a sort of fascinated spectator, yet moving forward in an astonishingly stupid, tentative and haphazard way.

Let's see... there are oodles of $8.99 rebuildables that no one seems to want or ever talk about. Then there are the $150 rebuildables that are available for about 3 minutes every six months until they sell out, and whether or not they will ever return is the subject of much rumor, speculation and consternation, though you can sometimes get lucky enough to find one in the classys if you have a gazillion dollars for the 1200% markup. In between, there are various mixed reports concerning the $12 to $28 clones & chones that are easy to find and sometimes work really, really well as long as you have drills, Dremel tools and exactly the right sort of after-market screws. But then again sometimes they don't because they leak or burn or work great for two days as long as you never tip them on their side.

And I almost forgot: There is one "tweener", the Terminator. Good college end-rusher, but does it have the size and speed to play in the NFL? At $59, it seems to be right on the bubble...

So I bought a Vision Eternity and a Cov Gen 1, both of which are still sitting in their boxes. I bought 100 ft of kanthal ga32 and two big sheets of 12 x 12 SS 500 mesh. Oh and I got a roll of silica wick too, "just to have it". I have a digital multimeter and one of these days I'm going to get really ambitious and purchase a blowtorch!

I'm living proof that just because one can score well on a standard Stanford-Binet, it doesn't mean that he's not an idiot.

I had a ZAU in my cart the other day and almost pulled the trigger but couldn't quite do it. I also almost pulled the trigger on the Mini DID (which seem to be available for more than three minutes) at MMVapors, but couldn't quite do that either. Then I kicked myself for hesitating on the ZAU, but no so much over the Mini DID, because after all, it might still be available, which would of course mean that it doesn't matter whether I should have purchased it or not. In the meantime:

Mini Vivi Novas vape just fine. Cartos in glass tanks vape just fine. If it wasn't for my paranoia about the future availability of these disposable products I would probably just be a happy vaper and leave it at that, but I want a permanent solution, which clearly makes me not only an idiot who's in denial of the basic existential fact of human mortality, but an obsessive compulsive idiot at that. Except I think I may be an obsessive compulsive idiot who still needs a stockpile of silver NR wire, because I don't have any of that yet.

I'll probably start by trying to rebuild one of the Vivi Novas, and if that goes well move on to the Cov... One of these days...

And thanks for letting me get this inane rant off of my chest. Happy vaping!

Yeah, especially add a 55-gallon drum of the high-test stuff to your freezer. Seriously! Nicquid is all too easy for the FDA to regulate out of usability.

The Vivi Nova and Vivi Mini heads are fairly easily rebuildable, once you get the hang of the task. Occasionally, well-used Vivi Minis will leak when their o-rings go, but a few wraps of teflon tape on the tube threads solve the problem.

Aye, there's the rub, the juice. I have 750 ml of 100mg now, which should last for a little while as long as it doesn't curdle...
I might get a year and a half maybe 2 years mixing down to 24 mg, for sure needs to be in the fridge to stay up to snuff that long

I dare not keep mine in a rum bottle

The best way that I have seen to store the nic base is in cobalt blue glass bottles (with minimal air space) in the freezer. It will not freeze or expand and will last at least 5 years.
I have 500ml in (4) 120ml bottles in a chest freezer right now and will be getting more soon because even if the FDA doesn't outright ban bulk nic liq then it will be taxed to death!! I have placed the bottles in 2" pvc pipe with pvc caps to help prevent breakage

I have a freezer that I keep at -10 degrees Farenheit. All my high-test nicquid has been poured into sterilized (with Everclear) 60 ml. blue Boston bottles. I'm hoping it'll keep for a good 35 years -- I have enough nicquid to last me that long. By then, I'll be 100 and presumably past caring about much of anything. ;)

RichardV, the FDA could also require nicquid be denatured (i.e., laced with poison) to render it unvapable.

LOL! I'll trade you some of my 100 feet of NR wire that I'll never use for some of your silica wick that I'll probably never use, either :) I do have a couple of Chid/Duds, but they are supplied beyond all reason. Just got 100 feet of Kanthal in the mail today, and I have enough SS mesh to camp out in the Amazon without fear of malaria. I also have a number of poor impulse control items like the NR wire I bought after watching a particularly inspiring how-to video on You Tube.

Hah! Thank you for taking this rant in the spirit in which it was intended, though I still plan to get to the bottom of this "necessity of NR wire" thing... Happy Holiday!

Terminator or Odysseus if you can find it or have the extra money, These are the best I have ever used, at least in my experience. I tried the DID, the Zen and another ss mesh type and it wasnt worth all the work and experimentations needed to get these to work for me. I have problems with my hands and honestly for me the intensity of the flavour from Genesis system atties was too much for me. I use mostly NET tobaccos and genies were just too much TH, too harsh a hit for me. I tried a a friends Odysseus and fell in love. At the time there was not a clone, and after some selling of vaping items that were not in use, and selling my first photograph I got the money and the timing was right to get an Ody in the classies. I have not had a moment of regret. Thats my Ody/Terminator story and Im sticking to it:)

Not all atomizers are for everyone, and not all vaping needs are the same for everyone. Im just so glad there are so many choices out there to suit ones needs. I still enjoy my good ole boges and carto tanks.

Once I got started on RBAs, I haven't bought another clearo or carto. I've got 5 Chids, 4 Chobras, 2 AGA-Ts, and 1 AGA that are in (pretty much) daily use. I can't wait until v.2 of the AGA-Ts come out. :D

I use the Chids mostly on my Twists & MVP. The rest are used on my ProVari, Vamo & TOX. All are filled with the different juices I vape pretty much daily.

With loads of Kanthal wire & SS wick on hand, all I need is a stockpile of 100mg Nic & I can withstand Govmageddon almost indefinitely.
