I think we are grown up enough that it won't become a "My dog is better than yours" post.

that'd be a bad idea to do anyway.

D3mon, those photos are just too sweet. What a face.

that's my boy right there! :D Like almost every other cared for pitbull...he's extremely smart, very affectionate, and has an awesome personality. He has, personally, broken at least 30 people's stereotypes of pitbulls...including my brother, who was deathly afraid of them.

here he is with his girlfriend (don't mind the boxes...we JUST moved into our house)

Where are the tips and tricks??????????

The ELA works best once you post pictures of your dog. If you don't have a dog, adopt one immediately then post pictures of it. If you just aren't a dog person, then posting pictures of your feet will suffice - but not here, no one wants to see your feet.

Just for laughs:

I haven't yet found the courage to fill this monster with 15ml of juice. I'll do it some day but need a juice that won't foul the coils before I finish the tank.

Right now I'm using heat cleaned xc-132. It works great but at $7 a foot I don't know I'll keep buying it.

I just got some 2mm ekowool and am eager to try it but my current Kayfun setup is the best coil I've ever built and it's working so good I don't want to rebuild it just yet.

Of course it probably won't be too long before my tinkerer nature get the best of me...

Oh, we're on dogs now? Very cool!

Nice pit d3mon! Here's my girl that I lost in 2011 to bone cancer:

Best dog I've ever had and I miss her dearly.

On a positive not, here's my new goofball Molly:

American bulldog mix and the sweetest creature I've ever encountered.

Infinite puppy cuteness!

Sorry for the dark pictures, I really need a better camera.

Okay, I know im lazy, but I just ordered some 34 gauge kanthal for using on my Ody set up. I heard that the thinner wire heats up faster so I want to give it a try. My question is, I usually cut my kanthal to 2.5 inches for a 2.7 or so resistance. With thinner wire would I have to make the length shorter or longer? I like having 5-7 wraps closely wound together for more wire to silica surface contact.

Shorter. Thinner wire = higher resistance per inch :)

I find for higher resistances I actually prefer nichrome wire for some reason. I can't really put my finger on exactly why, but I can do a 2.8 ohm coil with 32ga kanthal and another with either 32 or 34ga nichrome and I'll just like the overall vape better, though it's a subtle difference. For under 2 ohms, though, I really don't notice much difference between the two. maybe it just has to do with the number of wraps on the coil since the nichrome is generally a little higher resistance/inch . . . ah, I'm going off on a tangent and thinking out loud, just ignore this paragraph

Yeah, about the Kick and higher resistances, here's an anecdotal example. I once eyeballed a coil length in my Ody and it came out to about 3.2, at the time I pretty much ran it just like you with the mid/high 2.x ohm range and kicked. I could only occasionally get it to fire (at around 8 watts, maybe a tad over), thought I had done a bad coil build, but eventually discovered it was the Kick. Ran that coil at 6v (stacked cr2's) for a while and then rebuilt so it was in my normal resistance range, on which the Kick was again working fine, so I can only assume that I was trying to push the boost capability of the Kick beyond its limit at that resistance and wattage setting

Not necessarily. You're using a Kick, so you will have the same wattage, it will up the voltage to compensate. And in my experience, the Kick doesn't always play well (at least mine doesn't) with anything above 3 ohms so you might want to try keeping it at 3 or less

Kicks dont play well at all sometimes.... Now the Crown is a different story, I have been using mine for 3 days in my ELA-Not one misfire, and they have a lower cutoff so run times are longer.... Im buying a couple more when they become available....

So a while ago, I posted that I had messed up my spring. I want to re-cap, it seems the spring is binding up in the threads, would that cause a short? and if it did would it damage my batteries and or Kick? Seems my batteries ( all 14, varying sizes), hit perfect when I put them in and within a few minutes it gets really hard to get them to fire and then I cant press the button hard enough and then dont fire at all.

Help, I ordered an extra spring this morning and got a shipping notice, but it might be the accent rings I ordered a few weeks ago. Funny battery orders and the spring show up in the order history, but not the ELA order, so its hard to tell what is coming on thrus , the spring I hope, or the brass accent rings.

Its frustrating, I have to change batteries every half hour or less. Right now I only have ELA to use as I gave my Natural to my son, as he left the KGO at a friends.
