I particularly like the closing paragraphs:
E-cigarettes are believed to be a valuable tool in helping smokers to quit smoking. California Polytechnic State University professor of economics Michael Marlow asserts, “E-cigarettes have become the greatest source of ‘creative destruction’ that we’ve seen against the tobacco industry.” "
Perhaps you could be right. But its a sign that things might changeAlas, the correction won't be seen by even one percent of the audience that saw the original article (including on Science Daily).
The propaganda machine worked perfectly in this instance. The idea's out there, correcting it is ineffective, and it'll be used for years to come.
Tobacco kills more than 480,000 people annually – more than AIDS, alcohol, car accidents, illegal drugs, murders and suicides combined.
Tobacco costs the U.S. approximately $170 billion in health care expenditures and more than $150 billion in lost productivity each year.Nice little bread and butter paychecks for Big Pharma each year ?

How much do investors pocket from Health insurance portfolios?
How many Dr.s drive around in 100K autos, with a second for the spouse?
How many insurance CEO's are now millionaires?
How much has society level changes in Foods/chemicals/Work related stress had an effect on ones ability to fight off health issues?
How does one argue the validity of one data stream and blindly accept the validity of another?
I can say, I have seen more Non-smokers in Dr's offices, Hospitals and taking Time off work than Smokers.(obviously that could be construed as More people do not smoke)
How much does Health Care cost Total Annually? Who pays the bill?
My insurance, paid by me, has made tens of thousands more from me than I have ever had them pay out, and none smoking related.

I don't doubt that for a second but be prepared for some insisting on "proof" LOL , there are some here that must have proof no matter how obvious something is .
