MoonMan...great stuff..thanks for posting this.

Are the glass bottles at 3" too long to fit completely inside the battery holder?

Would glass bottle be moe or less desirable than plastic, or it just personal preference?

I would stick with plastic, myself. I drop stuff a lot.

As for being too long, you WANT the end of the pump to stick out so you can easily pump it and grab it to pull out, although the pump I used would have fit in the case entirely.

Hi, could some explain the wiring on this unit? Red goes to the center of the N size coaxial power switch, and the ground goes to momentary switch on one leg. Them out the second leg of the momentary switch to second leg on the coaxial power jack? Thanks

It's the typical battery box wiring scheme, nothing different there. Positive sides of batteries to push switch, push switch to center pole on connector, negative side of batteries to on/off slider, slider to outer ring of connector.

MoonMan I noticed you use those little switches a lot in your mods. Any trouble with them? I used one for a manual m401 usb passthrough and it only lasted a couple of days. BTW in the middle of making one of your UPACs for a M401, thanks so much for the tips. Thinking about trying to use a syringe instead of a hose ... wish me luck.

I've used the switch twice now, and no problems yet. I believe they are rated at 500mA and 125v, so I would think they could handle double the amps at a way lower voltage - maybe the 5v from USB is too much? I've never ran them higher than what the 14500 batteries put out.

Good luck!

I do not think it burnt out I think I man-handled it to death kinda sucked because I just epoxied it to a mod I was working on. Using a 3A version from Radio Hack on UPAC mod, thinking it feels a little sturdier.

Hey MoonMan, do you have one of these mods with LED? It would be ausome if you could add one. I'm waiting on parts so I could get my hands dirty. I already have the butterfly IV. Works quite well with this MOD. It was hard to insert the IV tube due to it being pliable but I managed to get it in there without juice sipping out. I'm using the 4 ml instead of the 2 ml. It was just easier to insert the IV tube in the pump. Anyway if you ever put a LED, I'd love to know which one you use or do you have a suggestion on which model LED is best for this application. I intend to MOD an M401 atty then I'll try it with a DSE901.

You're on your own for the LED - I've decided they just waste power and attract unwanted attention. I did grab one at Radio Shack (blue, I think?) that was rated high (around 3.7v) that should be able to handle the direct voltage without messing with resistors and the like, but I decided to not bother installing it. Should be easy enough to do, though.

I might have to look into that IV tubing - I'm out of the tubing I use.

I'm with you moonMan, led's are cool and all but you can tell pretty quick if a batts not up to voltage, it's also one more connector that can fail. How is that micro switch working for you? I've got some and am considering using one on another cree mod but don't want to if I'll have to replace it in a week.

I wanted a small LED just so I know its working, but that's just me. I wonder if the LED from the old batteries will work. Only thing is those have 3 wires.

About those micro switches. I can't find them at Radio Shack. Do you have a model or part number?

No, sorry. I found them in the store with all their other switches, the packaging is long gone.

I'm considering making a handful of these if anyone is interested. I know I said I didn't want to in the past, but the design is solid and worth sharing to those that can't make their own.

I'm interested. A couple of questions for you...

How hard is it to change atomizers? What cart/atty is this using, 901? What is your price?

Outstanding work, sir.
