Ah,
The amazing world of rebuildables. So many choices and probably so many questions. The Phoenix V1 is once again in my favor, after spending months in the "crap bucket" of parts that failed or just pi$$ed me off
I think what got it put there was my frustation with that floating center post that just absolutely would not function on my Itaste "box" from Innokin. The same factor that also made it non functional on my Ohm-meter.
So I got the Phoenix V3. (never found V2).
"Yee haw!" I exclaimed. "No floating post! They've improved" I thought, and so, I deactivated the V1.
Then, after a few weeks, the internal post threads on the V3 took a crap. Oh goodie. Back to finding something I could vape without rebuilding every day.
So, being faithful (or lazy however you see it) I went for the Phoenix V4, rebranded as many names and now described as an (rda).
"Well, it's awful, uh, 'petite' and has a BIG mouth", I opined, so even though it reminded me of my ex-wife, I figured I'd try it.
No such luck for anything positive. Another shared characteristic I didn't wish to think about
The Phoenix V4 is the biggest disappointment yet. The grommet system just plain sucks. Always popping off.
The threads are impossibly small and, now, stripped out.
YUK.
So back I went rummaging around for an atomizer. And yes, I gave the V1 a reprieve.
Well ,now after some tinkering I've determined that all in al the V1 original is a a cinch and a no brainer. Plus you have a good solid screwed on fit, not those weak-... grommet system.
Just remember to clean out any cosmoline before you use it AND soak your wick thoroughly, and also season your coil first with a lighter until it glows red. BEFORE you insert the wick, of course.
So,like I said, the center post will recess on its own occasionally causing some mods to read it as a short as. Any 510 adapter will remedy this.
BUT......at the end of the day, a Phoenix V1 will perform flawlessly, and can easily hold a half milliliter(10-12 drops) with a proper build, out performing most.
Build your wick 3x the length of your coil, place 1 side of the wick up and the other down into the reservoir.Make sure the vent hole is unobstructed.
And your good to go
Just don't overpay, anything over 10 bucks for a Phoenix V1 is a rip off.
Try Discount Vapers and others which will usually meet that price, even shipped.
