Sounds like first thing is to wash the chassis out and let dry.

Gaskets on atty/cart threads? check
Large gasket on outside of atty/silo? check
Install catch cup? check

You need to replace all the gaskets with the new ones you should have received. The catch cup is not crucial unless you have leakage from the venturi. You can find several tips in this thread if you search "catch cup". Sorry it's late an my eyes are shot.

Be careful not to over tighten the bottle or cross thread it.

vape without the shell & cone to isolate exactly where you are getting leakage. Bath might be all you need. Has worked wonders for many of us.

hope that helps.

Thanks for the help...Cleaning out now.

The gasket kit I got had a smaller gasket for around the atty. It also had some smaller gaskets for around the threads...these seem to be the same as the ones that are on the attys that I got. Should I change out the gasket for the threads? Or am I ok?

If they are the same color, you should be good. Older one were clear, new ones whitish. If your atty/silo is not wet on the sleeve (under the cone), you are probably not leaking from the top.

Question, is this your first bottom feeder? If not, you might be overfeeding. Those of us with previous experience seem to be having the largest learning curve with this mod. Takes so very, VERY little to feed.

This is my second bottom feeder...first was the Reo Grand...perhaps I am overfeeding? The atty is always wet under the cone.

Could be. The Vmod bottle is much more pliable than a reo's. The feed chamber has a finite capacity and you can't see it like in a catch cup. AG shared that if you invert the mod until you see a bubble(s) of air, upright, and then gently squeeze till you hear a squish like sound, that is about the perfect amount to fill the feed chamber. Just what the neck of the bottle holds.

If the sleeve is wet, you have too much juice OR the seal is not working. Another trick is to turn the gasket inside out. I haven't had to do that. AG shared that one also.

Make sense or am I rum dummy? :p

Turn the big rubber gasket around the atty inside out? The new gasket seems to fit tighter around the atty then the old...the old one would stay in the mod when I disconnected my atty...the new one comes out with the atty. Is this right?

I have (turned it inside out, and felt like a true modder, btw). Give it a shot, Sense. Also do vape it naked (or in VMODian "nekked", with no body) to see what is going on. We will help you figure this out. T-taz is a wealth of info and also has infinite patience. AG is our resident expert, and me? I'll stand by and giggle, but will also help ya. :)

Okay, folks...will do the vodka soak. All I have is some Ketel One that my friends left here over a year ago. Since I won't drink it, I guess I've finally found another use for it. ;)

No! Ketel is way to good for atty cleaning.

Sounds like you guys/girls are all experts to me!

Sooner or later the kits will have the new seals & cup pre-installed. What will we do when we don't have to give the helpful hints anymore? ;)

Damn Kat, 17 Vmods? Only one more & you'll have enough for each of your Venusian hands! :p

I'm glad the alcohol worked for you.

Nothing like a stiff drink with your vape! ;)

Ha! You rock, Almighty. And thanks for the tip!

Gosh, I hope I don't get drunk before work... Something tells me that Human Resources showing up drunk will probably send the wrong message. They'll understand, mind you, but it's probably not a good idea. ;)

Wait until your first pre-order and the product you paid for doesn't ship for 8 weeks.
This following 9 months of product hype, while waiting for the pre-order.
Then you have reached the next level!

Done it.... Maybe for not quite as long... Had a bit of a wait for my thors hammer...

Btw AG hope the wait was worth it...
