Hi all ~ I have been lurking in this thread for awhile now, wanting to upgrade from my kr808's to something w/no training wheels. Just didn't have funds to have to buy everything this month. That is until I saw one for sale in the classy's. So now I'm waiting for my new baby!!!! But here is my question. Where is the best place to get batts? I know less than nothing about batt's atty's etc etc... So any info would be really appreciated. thx everyone. :vapor:

I used RTD but there are others. I prefer the AW IMRs for performance and safety. Don't get caught like a deer in the head lights over mAh. It's a lot of white wash when it comes to the drain ecigs pull.

Sorry, link corrected

AW brand has a lot of respect as a great brand. It is a bit more expensive than some other brands, but I got talked into them and am very happy that I made that choice.

I've just used AW 14500 IC (protected batteries) on this mod. They are available at several battery suppliers on this forum. Super T Manufacturing is another one mentioned earlier on this thread. There are others.

New to buying your own batteries all the talk can be a lot to absorb. There is a lot of discussions between "high drain" and "protected" and a lot of opinions. It seems a lot of experienced vapors like IMR (High drain).

I chose "protected" -----well, because they are a bit safer-----and am just beginning to check out the high drains (IMR) so don't have a comparison.

There is a good write up on batteries in the library here at ECF---at least I think that's where it is!

Make sure you buy at least 2 so you can have a spare charged and ready. They will most likely last longer than your KR808's -- but not necessarily a lot as there are other factors besides "MaH". I seem to recall the IMR's are 600 and the IC's 750. Hope this helps.

I think you made a great "upgrade" choice, By the Way!!!

Brian showed me one of the new chassis on Skype the other night.

I don't think we'll be seeing these problems anymore.

There will be a pin to keep the connection from turning, and a sleeve to keep it from rocking.
The mold injection was improved too.

Keep in mind that not all of the Vmods are cracking either.
I have two of them and neither has cracked.
Go figure...

But but but... Your AG! :D

I had this one brand of mod, which melted down all the damn time!

I prefer the IMR battery for the discharge curve, but the IC for the safety of the mod.
IMR will continue to put out power if there is a short, where the IC chip will shut down the battery.
Mechanical mods run better on the IMR, but are safer with the IC.
I don't think there is a wrong answer for which battery to choose.

I agree with tea. I happen to like Super T. (Super T Manufacturing, Innovative manufacturer of electronic cigarette products.) (scroll down til you find AW IMR 14500 600mAh 3.7 volt) Don't forget to get a charger. Most of us like either the Trustfire TR-001 3.6/3.7 Volt Charger, or the UltraFire WF-188 Charger switchable for 3.0/3.2/3.7 volt batteries. The difference between these two is that the latter can charge different sized batteries. So, if in your future you do get something other than a 3.7 volt batt, the WF-188 might be a good choice.

This is a big step up from your kr808s (which I happen to adore, believe it or not), and a great choice in a first mod, a first bottom feeder. Stick around with us, kiddo, and you'll learn all you ever wanted to know about the VMOD. And then some. :)

As far as attys are concerned, the VMOD works amazingly well with the Hybrid BF (bottom feeder) attys, which are available at Vapage (Premier Vapage) and at Cloudsofvapor (Hybrid Atomizers).

Hope this helps. I'm sure you'll have lots of questions. Fire away. :vapor:

Thank you TeaRose, taz, :),
AND thank you very much Scotay :)

I just reviewed that ad. You'll want to order a charger ASAP if you don't have one. One batt is not gonna last too long and wasn't listed what kind it was. Your getting one of the 2.8 silos. Some find them too cool. Your also getting one 1.5 atty. That is warm, a bit warmer than I prefer, but you might love it. Depends on what your used to and the type of juice you enjoy.

I received my V mod today. Awesome little mod especially at the price point. :) Luckily I had a 1.5 BF vapage atty AG sent me (thanks AG) as the 2.8 carto was, meh, kind of cool for me. Anyway, this little mod kicks out the flavor and vapor with the 1.5 vapage BF atty. Learning curve so far not to bad. Been through 3mls and have had only very minor leaking. Probably due to me not correctly being able to feel the resistance of the bottle when the little port gets filled. Hope to have the drill down soon so I can pocket it without worry.
Looking forward to trying the 1.8, 2.2 cartos when available and get a couple more 1.5 attys.
