First VV was a Vamo v1. Local shop. second was a kicked SB from Altsmok. Then a Provari, another vamo, another Provari. Guess who wins this race.
Ok Provari all the way. But I still use the vamos's v1 and let a brother vapor use the v2 I got. Daily use for all of em. Not a fanboy but it does feel good. But then so did the SB till the batteries went south on me today. Yep craped out 2 18650 AW protected batteries in one day. (And I really did like them batteries). Makes me sad.

They were both the AW 18650 3100mah batteries and the positive post colapsed on em. Nothing but IMR's from here on out. I used em with the kick and that's my own fault. But they both did serve a good term of use and not an easy term. So no worries here. I still got some 18500's to use with the kick and it makes it more compact. (if a SB can be compact)

Are those any good, I was checking out the gripper mod from the B&M store of cigtechs ( it felt a little to "lightly" made so i decied not)...It was nice...but I think something a little more solid might be in order if there are any out there
The construction of the Smoktech VV Gripper leaves a lot to be desired. After 7 weeks use, the buttons on the front collapsed into the body. It was still under warranty, so the vendor replaced it. So despite that I really like the form factor, I can not recommend one.

I have a very similar form factor to it in the Ovale V8, which is much better constructed and that I can recommend. But it is not without a fault, too. The springs that are in the battery compartment are rather flimsy and get in the way of inserting a fresh battery. I use a credit card to hold down the springs during insertion. Other than that, I really like this mod. The two 18350 imr batteries last up to two days of use. It must have button top (not flat top) batteries to work. You can get the Ovale V8 at Discount Vapors for $30. They also have a leather lanyard/pouch for this mod for $9.

There's a thread here with Ovale V8 discussion. The vast majority of owners love this mod.

First and second e cig orders were from two different Chinese websites and third was wholesale plus big shipping from an alibaba ad for the newest and latest. Big quantity. 3! But it saved me about $12.00 plus I sold one at cost to friend. Co op of two. Hah
Edit. Ohhhhh Mod PV....that was from a co op for the Vamo!

Like many others -- started with an Ego, moved to a twist, started looking for a VV around June '11. There weren't as many options then as there are now; I felt relegated to the Provari. Went with the Provari Mini, and got 2 -- one for myself and one for the wife. After 3 weeks, she decided she absolutely hated it, so now I have 2! :D

I've yet to talk the B/f into getting some provari's, were both kind of curious bout them just gotta make that plunge i guess!

Well, its definitely a shift in weight, if you're used to Ego's still... I see Vamo's in your avatar though, so I assume that weight won't be an issue. Beyond that -- the only thing you might miss from the Vamo is variable wattage, but beyond that I swear by my Provari's! They've taken quite a beating; I'm quite clumsy (hence the wheelchair!) and I've dropped both of my mini's at least a few dozen times -- and thats being kind to myself :D They both still look and perform just as well as the day I bought em. If you're not afraid to invest a bit in a mod, I doubt you'll be disappointed! :)

Just a curious question to all the newbies here ( and oldies too if ya wanna answer) Where did you get your first mod PV from?....

I recently got my first Mod PV for my upcoming birthday, which is a Vamo, RAWR!

So feed my wanna know bug!! please? lol :pop:

More like a trip down memory lane for me to post this here, but your question made me look at my history.

2/14/12 - 4 NJOY disposables - Found in a local gas station, figure I'd finally give it a shot.
2/16/12 - Ordered Greensmoke kit - Disposables lead me to believe it could work.
2/16/12 - 30 minutes after ordering the Greensmoke, found ECF which changed everything for me (wish I had found it one hour earlier).
2/20/12 - Kit Arrived - Quit smoking 9 hrs later (at least the kit didn't go to waste).
2/24/12 - Registered on ECF and purchased a Provari v2 based off a weeks reading on ECF.
3/15/12 - Bought another v2 and a mini on release date.

This was before all the massive love/hate relationships that seemed to have developed over the last year. Served me well, now moving on to add hybrids and mechanical mods almost a year later. Still use all 3 of my first mods, just differently than when I started with them last year.

Edit: Would have started with a KGO if I was shorter on funds, but did get a chance to recommend it to a buddy based on ECF info. Tried it last year when I set it up for him, and found it worked great.

Speaking of Vamo's, whats your opinion of them? A few good friends have and swear by them -- but they also refuse to pay over $100 for a mod (though none of them were the 2+ pack a day smoker that I was, so they don't have the 'relative savings' that makes it a little easier to justify). I'm quite interested in the variable wattage functionality -- seems like it would be great for rebuildable tanks.
