The Wizard - Why not?

FINALLY, I have my order straightened out, and my quartz tubing is on the way.
From GE Fused Quartz Tubing, Tube and Rod
I ordered 50' of .5mm ID x 1mm OD and 50' of 1mm ID x 2mm OD tubing.
These come in 4' sections, and not cheap. Since they required a 50.00 min order I doubled up as I am interested to see what the .5mm x 1mm can do as I can increase the lenth of the heating area with out increasing the ohms. And with a reduced ID I migh not need a restrictor. We will see. If anyone want to try some of this I will have extra LOL, and I can cut it to the length you want, just PM me.
Will let you know when it is in and how I fair

Nice find Dan, Wish I would have found that place when I was looking. The smallest I could get was 1mm ID x 2mm OD. I would be interested in purchasing some of that .5mm ID tube. I paid $30 for (2) 4ft sections after shipping. I doubt I'll ever even use the 3mm ID tube I have.

You're right about that 0.5mm wall thickness. You should get much better heat transfer and more area coverage with less power required to do the job. Can't wait to see you try it.

How is this stuff as far as getting juice burnt to it C? This Duran will not clean up and its supposed to be used for hi-temp sight glass in furnaces. For my setup it deletes the purpose of using glass to see through.

If it can be miniaturized to near the size of a stock atomizer, I'm all over it.

That is the hope with the .5mm x 1mm stuff, smaller surface area, more wraps. I am hopefull.

I use this to cut glass tubing and it works great. Just score all the way around then press down a little and it snaps right off nice an clean.

You can find them all over then net. Picked this one up locally at Wards Natural Science. They have a wharehouse down the road from me but they do sell online as well.

Zero, zip, zilch, nada. The glass counter top was dry and so was the mirror. It was perfect. All fluid was fogedized.

Mission #1 accomplished:

Was successful with installing the new glass quartz atomizer tube with wetting wire into a stock Wizard.

Atomizer:

Installed: Made the electrical connection to the atomizer coil outside of the tube to allow it to be easily disconnected for removal if need be.

LOL, Yea it does hit pretty hard but is controllable.

Now that we know good vapor is attainable using 7 Watts of power. I want to modify the battery compartment to use (5) 14500 3.7V batteries in parallel, then add in the TI PTN04050C step-up adjustable regulator. That regulator is capable of 12 Watts of power. I want to see how much overhead we really have available. I'll use a potentiometer so I can dial the voltage up and down. If there is enough overhead, true closed loop power control will be added for the ultimate vapor experience.
