OK concept design for a quick removal atty that can be cleaned, thoughts?
Think box design and a gutted atty that goes over the end into the box for inhaling.
Dan
Looks nice Dan. The possible problems could be excess liquid flowing out of the exit side of the tube and leaking down over the coil causing poor electrical connections to the coil. Or possibly causing the coil and tube to glue themselves to the connection points making it hard to remove.
I've been wrestling with ways to get good connections and isolate them from liquid contamination. Since it's all glass there is not much that can be done right at the glass to coil points (I like the rings around the tube in your drawing). You almost have to have some kind of high temp epoxy to hold things in place.
Another tough item is keeping intimate contact between the coil and the glass. There is a small amount of expansion and contraction there going from hot to cold, so it will eventualy loose efficiency as the coil loosens from the glass.
Another thought is to maybe use a silicone O'ring between the exit of the glass tube and the gutted atomizer case. This way any excess liquid would hopefully just collect in the gutted atomizer and maybe flow back down inside the tube and not down around the outside and coil.
Thanks for the sketches and sharing your ideas Dan. Looking forward to see your test results.
I really need to get back to this pretty soon.
