Can I be a Modwomper, too? I found out I really LIKE using my iSub tank at 25 to 30 watts. I still tootle on my Protanks now and then, but I really seem to prefer lung hits now with these great tanks. I can't build coils, though. :( I did learn how to re-wick them, however, so that's *something,* right? :)

(At the rate I'm going through juice now, it's just a darned good thing I learned how to DIY! LOL!)

Welcome to the group Lannie :)

Makes sense, plungers make great donut holders.

I'm pretty sure it was a joke, chopdoc. I really doubt that most people in the TP thread feel that way - I don't. I appreciate everyone who contributes there. I often read this thread as well because I learn a lot about coils and building. I just have never posted until now because I don't really qualify as a mod whomper.

Neither do I -- except that interest in coil building! ;)

I trash talk the TPers a lot... I is one. :D And I can even understand the preference that some of them have for blisterpack coils; when I first got a kayfun, I used to YEARN for pre-made coils for it! I've gotten to the point though, that it's just not a thing, and the real reason I started building coils was that I couldn't get a vape I liked, and could depend on, from the blisterpack kind, though I'm not sure it was totally the fault of the coils, but of those blasted cheapie Kanger tanks with my extremely-thin juice... but when I discovered the $$$-savings of rebuilding and the superlative vape of a kayfun, it was just icing on the cake.

Here, I was, getting all excited about donuts, and then this ^^^^ Now I don't much feel like eating a donut...

So, can a person without thumbs build coils? Or are thumbs absolutely required? This is something I'd like to learn at some point, but my thumb joints are so damaged, it's hard to pick things up, much less hold onto them. I guess I should go find a few videos to watch, and maybe that will tell me.

Hmm... you could wrap a coil using one of those coil-jig thingies... but mounting it to the atty, that might give you a big problem -- my thumbs usually work fine (if the arthritis in my right bottom-most thumb joint isn't acting up) but still sometimes feel I need 3 hands -- even with a 3" vise to hold the atty in place while I mount the coil on it.

A CoilMaster would help with wrapping your coils easily.
$6.19 Coil Master E-Cigarette Wire Coil Winder - black / 1.0 + 1.5 + 2.0 + 2.5 + 3.0mm poles at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Or you can get an Authentic V3 that is bigger and easier to hold onto.

That's my problem, too, the joint right at the base of my thumbs, and it's BOTH thumbs. I was OK until I had to hand milk one of my cows that has teeny-weenie teats. I finally got a machine, but I spent two years hand milking her and crying every day there towards the end, and the damage seems to be permanent. Sometimes I can't even pick the Tylenol up from the table. I have to sweep it off into my palm. It SUCKS getting old. Luckily, I have a friend who can do coils, so maybe if I find I can't, I can sweet-talk her. ;)

Thanks for that link, @TrollDragon - that would probably help a great deal. There's NO WAY in hell I could install a coil, no matter how perfect, in one of those tiny Kanger attys, but maybe I can learn how to do the iSub ones. At least those are bigger. I can't even get the little rubber/silicone insulator grommet thingie off the bottom of the Kanger attys. Even with pointy tweezers. I could DESTROY it, but then it would be destroyed! I'm sure there's some trick to it, I just have to find out what it is. Or there's no trick, and I'm just going to be physically unable to do it. And that right there is a good reason to use blister-pack coils. ;)

So far, the arthritis in that huge joint has only flared up twice, and only once REALLY bad, but I remember how bad it hurts, being unable to pick up anything in my right hand -- thankfully, when I wash the dishes, I hold them in my left while I go over them with the soap-pad with my right, and I could handle that, but pick up anything small or heavy? No freakin way. My husband had to help me with the dishes for about 2 wks, when that flared up really bad, because it's hard to load a dishwasher with just one hand! (without breaking anything from dropping it!)

If you used atties that you insert the coil leads thru the posts and then tighten a screw, rather than *around* the post-screws, it might be possible; those are a bit easier, though I'm so uncoordinated that it's hard for me to get 2 leads thru 2 posts simultaneously. :D

NOT guilty! LOL! I got mine from good old fashioned hard work!

I've just always had very weird joints and connective tissue -- first outbreak of arthritis was when I was *18*! In the balls of my feet. My right knee has been acting up lately. My grandmother had it so bad in her hands, they looked positively deformed once she was past 70; I guess it's just a genetic weakness in the joints that makes them prone to wearing out -- my mom's knees are so swollen and painful, she can barely get out of her wheelchair at all. I hate to think what old age holds in store. Especially quitting smoking means I may actually make it to old age. :D

I'm not sure how these iSub coils are mounted. As attached to them as I am, it would be hard to abandon them for another type, but I would if I could build AND install my own coils. Or are you talking about dripper types? I'm too busy to drip, it seems like it would take too much time. I run past and grab a hit off this tank on the fly and then continue on.

I had the same problem with the dishes, too. I started using devils claw herb (anti-inflammatory) and that helps a GREAT deal, as in now I can wash dishes again and actually get a pan out of the cupboard, but small stuff is still hard or impossible. It's better in the summer when it's hot and everything moves better, but winter's coming on, and I'm feeling it. Yep, getting old sucks.

Thanks, Boden! That looks pretty easy! Now, can I get it IN the base? I need to start doing some research on the subject.
