Ahh, the 80s were wonderful... I think. As best I can recall, thru the alcoholic blackouts... ;) Loverboy was a particular favorite. And The Romantics... Men at Work... and a bunch of others that all seem to blend together in a haze of weird hair and pushed-up jacket sleeves...

Andria

Starter jackets, Forgot all about them hahahahahaha

A lot of people claim the 80's music sucked and yeah, disco, saturday night fever, Bee Gees. they did suck but there was also a lot of great music being turned out. The 70's was over but the rock movement was still strong. Ozzy went solo, Judus Priest was crankin, Def leopard was putting out some early classics.

We watch that show 'Rizzoli and Isles'... I was just noticing, the other night when it was on, that when Rizzoli wears a jacket, it's like a homage to the 80s, those jacket sleeves pushed up to her elbows.

BTW, I've been noticing that although our time smoke-free is very close, your number of smokes avoided is vast compared to mine... What did you do, eat them?

At work I would usually smoke 2 packs a day and on my two weeks off I would smoke as much as 4 packs a day so for my average it worked out to around 3 packs a day for me which was 60 smokes a day. That adds up over a year! 60 X 365 = 21,900 cigarettes a year.

Yeah... I was up to that much at one point, but that was just before I started taking it outdoors; after I did that, it immediately dropped to 2 pks a day, and as the prices climbed, my consumption steadily lessened, till it was right around a pk a day -- though in the spring and fall when it was neither too hot nor too cold out, I could easily go to 30 smokes a day.

Can I like this about 15 times

I tend to get weird looks when I'm rolling down the street with some old school skynyrd or foghat zz topp and such I'm only 27 and half the dam guys my age couldn't recognize one of their songs unless it was along the ways of Sweet Home Alabama Or such

Every time I hear this emo music people are into it wants to make me rip my hair out

Plan today is go help my wife's cousin get his house ready to sell and when I hear the jets come by at the start of the air show grab my plume veil on the paps with some banana nut bread juice and kick back in the lawn chair and watch them thunderbirds come roarin past!

Somthing as small as that air show makes your really think about all our troops and veterans who who risk their lives to protect our freedoms so we can do what we want ...vape on and thank you for your services for those Currently serving and past!:headbang:

Now this is 80's rock!

I know all the controversy surrounding this song and its BS, but for a little rock and roll trivia here. Randy Rhoads use to play this warming up for concerts. Ozzy walked in one day and heard it and was blown away by it. Him and Randy wrote the majority of this song within minutes right before a concert.

By the time this album came out Randy was already considered as one of the best guitarist in the world. Songs like Revelation made him to be considered as a master song writer. Was watching an interview with one of the guitarist from Metallica and he said this song was one of the hardest songs he ever learned to play and nothing but admiration for Randy Rhoads on it.

When I read the first Rolling Stone interview of Iommi,..I was blown away at the fact that he had cut some of the finger tips off on his left hand in a work accident ,..and melted plastic onto the nubs so he could play cords again! Wowzers that's quite amazing that he had to re-learn how to play and ended up sounding way better than he did in the first place.

That wasnt Randy Rhodes. It was Tony Iommi from black sabbath that happened to.

Funny thing about that. Black Sabbath is the god fathers of heavy metal but that is because of what happened to Tony Iommi fingers tips getting cut off. Back then it was really one style of guitar strings for all guitars. Because of his finger tips getting cut off he had to improvise and used banjo strings and drop tuning. This created a heavy guitar sound. Then he started plugging his guitar into the bass jack on the amp and created the sound that inspired generations of guitar players.
