I picked up my FiiO X3 and E12 from the HeadphoneBar in Vancouver great online shop for me. Always wanted a pair of 225's but never picked up any. I see that HiFiMan is starting move into Stax territory with the pricing of the new HE1000's.Haven't been on HF in several years now. When I moved out West I sold off my higher end stuff and really never had the luxury of getting back into it. I still have a pair of A-T ESW9's and my trusty Grado 225's, but my nice equipment, amps and reference cans are long gone, sadly.
I quite miss it. I had been the main organizer of Toronto meets for a few years. Even landed Ray Samuels as a guest at one of them. I also made it down to Can Jam in... jeez, I want to say 2008? Was in Ft. Lauderdale, anyway.
I've always suspected the mod scene would likely attract the stereo-weirdos and I guess I'm not totally wrong!
[EDIT] My goodness, the Little Dots have come a long way.
I always liked the look of Ray's gear and his portables are quite popular.
vape gear is expensive, but nothing like the rabbit hole that is personal audio.
