Thanks Andria!! Thats weird though. It should be tomorrow, Ive been waiting to make my I MADE IT A YEAR post for like 2 days now haha! Its easy to remember cause I lurked on here for a couple months and finally signed up for the forum literally the day before I got my old Greensmoke kit in the mail and quit. Maybe that banner is using GMT or some European time zone??? Oh well Im gonna go celebrate anyways after I go outside to do some porch womping.

Grats on the year!!!!!!!!! I have ten more days to go until I hit a year.

I run a few flavors but all are Ubuntu based. Linux mint with both KDE and a Mate version, Ubuntu itself and my favorite, Kubuntu which is Ubuntu with the KDE interface. It was a bit of a learning curve but not that hard. I use to run Mandrake back in the early 90's.

I actually remember that haha! I remember a post you made (or it was a comment in another discussion) shortly after I joined the forum where you mentioned "falling off the wagon" and you were starting all over. Youre not that far behind me now!

And now that its 1am here in MY time zone, I officially hit my 1 year! I think my sig banner might be smoking some {moderated} or something. Maybe its in a different time-space continuum or something. Maybe I was drunk and hit the wrong date when I made it!

Oh I was a miserable puppy last summer... I'd been doing so well, was almost 4 months smoke-free, and my stupid appendix decided that 53 yrs in this body was QUITE enough and it had to be OUT -- sailed thru the surgery like I'd never smoked in my life, got to go home the same day, and was still kinda goofy from anesthesia and residual morphine when I got home and posted my appendicitis massacree... and then the next day and the 3 that followed it weren't fit for man nor beast. Which was all quite bad enough, then when I could finally get out of bed for 15 minutes at a time and try to vape, it tasted AWFUL but the cravings didn't care... so I smoked! Talk about insult to injury! Took a whole 'nother month to get rid of the smokes again, then it took WTA to get rid of the cravings when they came back, 10 days later!

Anyone who says there is nothing useful or necessary for health in cigarettes has clearly never been a "recovering smoker" in the aftermath of a septic appendix and surgery, because one or more of those "minor alkaloids" was very definitely necessary to my recovery process. But I'm down to 3% WTA in my mix, so that should be outta here by the end of September.

@AndriaD, from where'd you order your eVic? I've been watching prices - full kits about $60, express about $50 have been the best I've seen so far...

vapenw.com -- $49.99 for the Express Kit -- I've got 2 1amp charge cables now, so I figured the express kit should do me fine.

Oh.... Heat flux isn't really applicable in tc so much....since you are setting the temp. instead of wattage...... Just need to find the temp you like, and temp wise your builds will all be the same. Some builds will give you more flavor, some more vapor, at that temp, but the temp should be the same :p
Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping.

Yeah the main problem is, I don't really know what temp my "usual build" provides. Someone, I think it was you maybe, provided the specs for a good starting point, 30w, 350 degrees, and the 350 seems low enough that it might suit, or at least not make me pass out when I try it. :D The only thing I really have to go on, right now, is comparing the heat flux figures for the different builds; my usual build, 29ga kanthal, 1.8Ω, around 3/32 or 7/64, the heat flux is 140; a .8Ω build using 30ga ti1, around 7/64, the heat flux is 144; but using 28ga Ti1 and aiming for .5Ω, around 7/64, the heat flux is only 115 -- clearly much cooler. So I'll have to play with the temp, maybe try some different builds, to get to a vape similar to what I enjoy now.

Oooh Mandrake was the first one I ever ran yeeeeeears ago back in like 2000 or so. I actually bought it along with Red Hat for Dummies which came with Red Hat, and Mandrake was so much easier. Moved to Debian after that which was even easier to setup and maintain. When I bought my G4 PowerMac, I kept it on the G3 so I could still geek out on one machine, and keep the recording software intact on the new one. Got rid of my Bootcamp partition a couple years ago and tried Ubuntu finally so I could work on Android builds for my phone. Ubuntu was actually the best one Ive ever used, and it got to the point where I was just booting to that and only ran the Mac OS when I needed to work on music or play a game.

This is for Roxy...Just found it in the back pages of my library, figured you would like it.View attachment 472371

Lol! Cockatoos are a riot, but very difficult to live with unless you are single and childless (they tend to try to kill all family members who are not their favored person and have a viscious bite).

Andria, with the ti mapping on the Evic, you can definitely go over 400° :). I've been doing it on the sx mini and discussed this recently with USM...going to get your username wrong, sorry...rest starts with C...Cotka? On the mods with only ni mapping though, definitely stay lower.

Ok my sig banner is officially insane. Its been at 366 days and 8 hours since yesterday afternoon. Oh well at least I got my forum join date to remind me when I quit haha..
My forum join date is the day I started vaping. I had lurked here for weeks before ordering my first setup. It took about a month before I was a vaper 100% of the time. I have other things I would rather put in my signature so the quit banner quickly took a backseat.

Instead, I just typed in my actual quit date. :) I do have a spread sheet that I keep track of spending and savings. Which reminds me...haven't updated it in a few weeks. Hmmm it should jump a bit in the savings column. ;)

ETA: updated and grand total savings so far........

To see any changes in one's banner, since they updated the forum software, you have to actually *change* the banner and save it, to get the updates to show "live" (in the forum as opposed to the sig-banner editor) -- that's why I've been using the particular banner that I use, because they offer both a real banner, and a text display with customizable colors -- to see an update, I go in and change it around about 3-4 times a day; to get the text version to actually update, I have to actually change the colors slightly in the banner creator.

The forum does flush the cache around every 24 hrs, but it can vary slightly. I got tired of waiting on cache-flush updates, so I change the banner manually. :D

I was already well on my way before even finding ECF..I joined in November I think of 2013?!? I believe that's right,..anyway I didn't drop the Marlboro reds until January completely. I was both vaping and smoking but only like a pack a week from sometimes a 2 PAD habit.

It's conflicting I know,..but my vape-a-versary is on August 9th if that's not cheating any?!? :pervy:
