Oh I was a miserable puppy last summer... I'd been doing so well, was almost 4 months smoke-free, and my stupid appendix decided that 53 yrs in this body was QUITE enough and it had to be OUT -- sailed thru the surgery like I'd never smoked in my life, got to go home the same day, and was still kinda goofy from anesthesia and residual morphine when I got home and posted my appendicitis massacree... and then the next day and the 3 that followed it weren't fit for man nor beast. Which was all quite bad enough, then when I could finally get out of bed for 15 minutes at a time and try to vape, it tasted AWFUL but the cravings didn't care... so I smoked! Talk about insult to injury! Took a whole 'nother month to get rid of the smokes again, then it took WTA to get rid of the cravings when they came back, 10 days later!

Anyone who says there is nothing useful or necessary for health in cigarettes has clearly never been a "recovering smoker" in the aftermath of a septic appendix and surgery, because one or more of those "minor alkaloids" was very definitely necessary to my recovery process. But I'm down to 3% WTA in my mix, so that should be outta here by the end of September.

I remember hon and felt so sorry for you until you got some WTA! I knew you wouldn't have anymore setbacks then!!!!

Lol! Cockatoos are a riot, but very difficult to live with unless you are single and childless (they tend to try to kill all family members who are not their favored person and have a viscious bite).

Andria, with the ti mapping on the Evic, you can definitely go over 400° :). I've been doing it on the sx mini and discussed this recently with USM...going to get your username wrong, sorry...rest starts with C...Cotka? On the mods with only ni mapping though, definitely stay lower.
@roxynoodle does yours call the local serial killa?!? :D

I run a few flavors but all are Ubuntu based. Linux mint with both KDE and a Mate version, Ubuntu itself and my favorite, Kubuntu which is Ubuntu with the KDE interface. It was a bit of a learning curve but not that hard. I use to run Mandrake back in the early 90's.

Ubuntu is definitely the easiest and most plug and play Distro's out there. I just like slack to keep my laziness at bay when setting up a system. :)

Oooh Mandrake was the first one I ever ran yeeeeeears ago back in like 2000 or so. I actually bought it along with Red Hat for Dummies which came with Red Hat, and Mandrake was so much easier. Moved to Debian after that which was even easier to setup and maintain. When I bought my G4 PowerMac, I kept it on the G3 so I could still geek out on one machine, and keep the recording software intact on the new one. Got rid of my Bootcamp partition a couple years ago and tried Ubuntu finally so I could work on Android builds for my phone. Ubuntu was actually the best one Ive ever used, and it got to the point where I was just booting to that and only ran the Mac OS when I needed to work on music or play a game.

I was a diehard RedHat user from the start, I loved RPM's and the way everything worked. Then Fedora came around and I got annoyed at an installation one time, so it got zipped up to 0K and Debian was my new found love.

I had a B&W G3 with a Sonnet Upgrade and a Quicksilver G4, all that is left now in the OSX is a beat off old 13" C2D.

Nope, none at all. :) A couple times, while I've been doing the gradual step-down, I've noticed that it seemed like I just couldn't vape enough, but those perceptions never lasted more than a day, if that long... and with my recent drop to 3%, yesterday in fact I realized that a cigarette would really hit the spot.. But I told my brain, TOUGH, DEAL WITH IT! as I vaped like a maniac. :D

Thankfully none of them have learned how to make phone calls or Pete would be ordering pizzas.

My Greys figured out how to use the tablet. Miss Merlin loves the crossword puzzle game. When you get a wrong word it makes a fart sound, which is one of her favorite sounds :D So she will happily play with it for an hour, typing in words and imitating farts back to it. Obviously she can't read so she gets all the words wrong :). Actually she can barely see, but she can highlight a word on the puzzle, then type on the keyboard that pops up. She also likes to text people.

When I've been out of the living room for "too long", Oobie imitates the phone ringing. I yell back, "Hello! Who is it?". She answers, "Meeeee," and I reply, "I'll be over to visit soon.". Then she says, "Ok, bye.". And if soon doesn't come soon enough she imitates the text message sound.

Pete loves watching serial killers on TV. He laughs like a psycho when they attack people. Criminal Minds is his favorite show. He also has a crush on the female computer whizz actress.

I probably will try it, but figured I'd start conservatively -- I like a very slightly warm vape; too warm and it bothers my lips, too hot and I can't inhale at all. But this Achilles seems rather cooler than a Kayfun, so who knows how high I might go. I'll have something to play with, till I suss out just the right build/settings for my preferred vape. :)

And I have to say, I'm thinking very hard about removing the airflow screw entirely from my Achilles; they whistle worse than Kayfuns!

Was digging around some old junk a few weeks ago and ran across some of my old mandrake distro disc and manuals. Was like a blast from the past :)

With Ubuntu I never did like the interface but Kubuntu had a lot nicer and cleaner desktop. I can do just about everything I need and for the most part its all plug and play. I can even hook up my iphone to it and download pictures with no problems instead of the windows way of uploading to the cloud and all that junk. Windows games and programs run fine under the wine environment.
Linux has come a long ways in being user friendly. A person who doesnt code can run it with no problems and for an OS that is free to download and use as well as comes with a full office suite program, how can you go wrong.

My forum join date is the day I started vaping. I had lurked here for weeks before ordering my first setup. It took about a month before I was a vaper 100% of the time. I have other things I would rather put in my signature so the quit banner quickly took a backseat.

Instead, I just typed in my actual quit date. :) I do have a spread sheet that I keep track of spending and savings. Which reminds me...haven't updated it in a few weeks. Hmmm it should jump a bit in the savings column. ;)

ETA: updated and grand total savings so far........
$5,418.30

Not long ago the missus was nagging at my vape mail so I showed her with me not smoking I saved $5K a year so whats the big deal if I spent $3K on my vaping hobby. After that I was miserably wondering just when i would learn to keep my big mouth shut

This has probably been answered but I don't want to have to read all 62 pages... is there a max wattage limit for entry into this club? I could be pushing the limits.

Nope, and welcome to the club! :rickroll:

We really never set any limits, that said, you ARE required to read all 62 pages!

My husband was in here high-fiving me, the other night when I hit $2k saved. He's gotten to go back to his coin collecting hobby since I quit buying cancer sticks, and I can buy pretty much any vape stuff I take a fancy to. Had to wait on yesterday's check to see how it would fit, but even the $50 mod+$10 wire didn't cause a problem -- that's the most expensive I've bought yet, but I figured since it actually *does more* (TC), it's worth it. :D

Oh, and also we were finally able to afford a security system for our home -- $43 a month monitoring, but that will go down once we're done with our 3 yr ADT contract -- when I smoked, NO WAY could we have afforded $43 a month!

The missus had a hissy fit from hell when I said I spent $3K  It doesnt matter that I can easily afford it. It doesnt matter that I still have a $2k savings from smoking. All that mattered was i spent $3K on vape gear. But I have to admit I like it when she is mad at me and not talking to me. Its very peaceful around here then.

Hmmm... I guess she doesn't think your life is worth $3k? Maybe you should ask her. :D (but maybe wear a helmet and ear plugs when you do). ;)
