@TrollDragon agreed. Just saw a thread where a guy wanted an IPV D2 and a SubTank, but he's tight on money. Then some...troll...came in telling him the SubTank is garbage and completely useless and he needs the TFV4. Sure the TFV4 might "chuck the vapor" and be "sick as t**s" but if you can barely afford the gear you won't have any juice to vape. I want one...from the giveaway, as a novelty tank that I use occasionally, but I couldn't run that thing all day everyday. Also, all the reviewers keep saying, "this triple coil really shines at 120w"...well bye bye juice and battery life.

That TFV4... Guzzles way too much juice for me.
I own the TFV4, the Zephyrus, Goblin Mini, Uwell Crown. The Crown with the RBA coiled with Ti by far is my favorite, hands down. I honestly didn't like the TFV4. I find it rediculous that you can not take the thing apart and put the glass back into the base without juicing it up. I'm probably gonna take it back unused. I will not use the stock coils anyway and would have to buy the RBA......

I entered the contest. I'd never vape with the thing, but it could come in handy to jump start the motorcycle on the side of the road...

I got one of my iSticks from Mt Baker, and they sent me a freebie of Hawk Sauce, which I promptly stuck in the drawer. Now everytime I open that drawer, all I can think is "ick" -- it's tobacco flavor, right? Smells repellant in the extreme.

Andria

I'm not sure exactly what it thinks it's supposed to be. I think there's Supposed to have a slight tobacco flavor. I never could determine a flavor I'm familiar with from hawk sauce.

Though the wife could tell me all about it. She was on a hawk sauce kick for a short while after DC vape fest last year. She got over it...

For some reason I thought Hawk Sauce was blueberry menthol, not sure why.

Alright Wompers, I need some help. The wife wants to give vaping another shot, but she wants a pen style\ego battery, and a tank to go on top. What's a good clearo these days, preferably one with heads that are easily rebuilt, and where do I order it from stateside?

Has she seen some of the more recent "box" style mods? Some of them are pretty small... and are capable of packing a punch if necessary.

For example, the subox mini kit is a sweet bit of kit. Comes with the k box mini the size of 1.5 18650 cells and a subtank mini. Includes 2 heads of different resistances and the rba head.

I got the wife's for like $55 each kit. One white, one black.

She loves it. Pretty much her all day setup.

And now there's the subox nano kit with the subtank nano. Available in pink or purple through preorder supposedly shipping now.

Both available with similar pricing through vaping cheap dot com discount links/codes.

All a moot point if that's not what you're looking for, but a solid suggestion IME.

@Lessifer I always liked my EVODs/MT3s/Protanks until I got my first RDA/Mech. Those little kanger coils are pretty easy to rebuild with some 30 gauge wire, some organic cotton yarn and a toothpick.
Kanger MT3 eGo B/C Clearomizer
Kanger EVOD eGO Bottom Coil Clearomizer
Mini Kanger Protank 2 Mini Pro Tank Glassomizer

Once I rebuilt with cotton rather than that silica I got a better vape out of those coils, also the air holes on the tank could use a little adjusting (for me personally).
I used to use a protank/mt3, and rebuilt them, but they were a little leaky. Any of the newer ones better about that?

Well, she thinks my smokeless owl box looks silly, so I wasn't going to try to suggest a box mod to her. She did use an ego for about a week, two years ago, and that's what she says she wants so I'm going with that for now. I'll look into the subtank mini though, keep hearing good things and there is a 1.2(1.5?)ohm head, right?

Yes the Subtank Mini and Nano kit come with a .5 ohm coil installed, and a spare which is 1.2 ohms. The Mini would be quite large for a ego style battery. Perhaps the Nano would look a bit nicer size wise......

@Lessifer couldn't say honestly, I haven't used mine in a long while. I think most of these companies quit upgrading and innovating them once Sub Ohm Tanks came out, now they are updating and upgrading those every other week. As you can tell, I'm a Kanger fan, I bought the original SubTank when it came out and I loved it. It may be a bit top heavy for a pen, if she was willing to get a bit fatter of a battery there are lots of options. Just checked Kanger's site, they have a .5Ω, 1.2Ω, and a new Vertical 1.5Ω OCC for the SubTanks.

Yes.

And flawless/plug and play unlike nightmarish protanks (in comparison).

Rba head included also.

And takes an 18650 replaceable or charge via usb... your choice.

And magnet held cover.

And .1 incremental from nearly no watts to 50.

And all matchy matchy (I hate that phrase)

With a pretty decent delrin drip tip, all things considered.

Tank is glass yet durable because it's metal rimmed top and bottom with reinforcement that reaches top to bottom on the inside.

Impressive little piece of kit for a good price. It's worth taking the chance at around $60 plus an 18650 and joose.

If you DIY there is no such thing as too much juice :pervy:

I tried it the way Rip says he likes it and its ok there but I personally liked it set higher. Round 70 - 80 watts with the tri coils its wunderbar. It does deliver the clouds, no doubt about that, but it also delivers excellent flavor. Im vaping some Vanilla Cupcake that I mixed up ( %4 Caps Vanilla Cupcake, %4 Caps French Vanilla, max VG) and the flavor is there. Its like eating a vanilla cupcake. Add a decent strawberry and would be a good mothersmilk clone, but thats beside the point. The point is it delivers excellent flavor and well worth it for a Mod Womper. For those of you who like the Mutation or Velocity RDA, just think the same thing, with a 5ml drip well that dont leak when its on its side. I have vaped it at 150 watts and it performs but its way too much vapor for me and way too hot of a vapor for me, but never a dry hit. Flavor was serious lacking at 150 watts to me.

It's really sad that this is the way vaping advice is going... On our local FB group someone asked about an upgrade from their Genitank Mega and iStick 30W, well there was suggestions of a Starre Pro, Triton, Subtank, TFV4 and every other FoTM tank. Then the iStick wouldn't cut for any of those tanks so the Snow Wolf, SMY 260, Sigelei 150's and I thiink someone even mentioned a Hollow Point mechanical box mod...

Really... It's getting a little out of hand with the bad advice, these suggestions were to a new vaper coming from a Kanger BVC product... I think only one person mentioned that the Genitank is the actual problem, this person also suggested an Innokin iSub for $15 that would work perfectly on the iStick 30W and be a substantial upgrade from the Genitank. I have a Genitank PoS in a box on the shelf to remind me about really bad uninformed purchases.

Like just throw her a Goblin and a roll of wire and say have at er... I think there were even comments about the iSub being junk as well since it don't blow no Big Cloudz Bro... Pathetic, but as we all know, Facebook is the AOL of the internet these days. I have already quit two "Vape" groups because of stupid information and rude/nasty mockery of innocent questions.

The fighting and hate in these groups is unreal too, with all the BS legislation coming down up here you think these people would have some solidarity, but the groups are being taken over by the sub culture of "I Vape Cause it's Cool" as 80% of them have never even smoked. And that's what kills me the most about the non smoker vapers, dripping the 12mg juice and then complaining that it's too strong and they should probably drop back to 6mg...

These are the same people that if vaping was made illegal they would move onto to something else, with absolutely no regard for the poor schmuck which vaping might just help him get off the cigarettes and prolong his life.

Needless to say I just don't get involved in the conversations, I just laugh and shake my head... "You know why you can't affect a change to the legislation guys?" Because of the way you carry on with all this BS, and don't think for a minute that there are not hired "agent provocatuers" to cause a stir in these groups when talk of the CVA comes up.

/Rant Off (Sorry)

The TFV4 would be a really neat tank to play with for a few days as I already have a Silverplay that goes through juice like no tomorrow. I use it mainly for all the juices that are to nasty for a regular tank. If you cut them in half with 100% VG, they burn away nicely in the Silverplay or the Mutation.
