I didn't think it sounded like your type of flick either, but with lines like "This is my BOOMstick!", you might find some value. I didn't think I'd like it either, but its definitely worth giving a try as long as you don't take it any more serious than the movie takes itself (which is to say, not at all.)
.
Oh, it's tongue in cheek. I like that.

My favorite TV show of all time (with the possible exception of House) is Buffy the Vampire Slayer [go ahead and scoff, unenlighted ones] – that blending of melodrama, real drama, and humor (and teenage angst) just grabbed me (and my wife) and never let go.

Unfortunately Whedon lost his touch somewhere during the sixth season and never got it back. [Maybe he burned out in creating the magnificent Once More With Feeling (musical) episode.] I was not one of the Firefly devotees; and the less said about Dollhouse, the better.

Hehe, yeah Army of Darkness is hilarious. (And I think most movies everyone else thinks are funny are annoying). It's got some humor a Buffy fan would probably appreciate.

And, I will not scoff... I thought Buffy sounded stupid for ages, but my ex pretty much physically forced me to watch an episode. Was told that if I hated it he'd leave me be, but I had to watch at least one. Of course I was crying my head off by the end of the episode & stayed up all night watching the season while Mr. Ex fell asleep. LoL. *sheepish face* I was really surprised how much depth & great character development is actually in there. I really don't like shows/movies that try to hit me over the head with pathos (i.e. chick flicks... grr) When the emotional impact is sort of snuck in between cool fight scenes & funny bits... I think that makes it all the more effective.

Do you not think Firefly is as well written or just not your thing? I think it's great. And since there is less crazy vampire-monster-hellmouth-whatever going on, I think there's even more focus on the characters. (I thought that one would for sure be goofy... a space western? But I'll always give Joss a chance & I love it).

Ahh... I'm getting on a whole writer/geeky fan soapbox, so I'll quit now. If you wanna geek-out sometime, lemme know. LoL.

Actually I was just wanting to say your Wonderful World of vaping guide has been amazingly helpful. I've probably gone back to it 30 times to check one point or another. You've got pretty much everything covered right in one place. The combination of clear writing & images makes it very understandable for a newbie. And you've got some funny bits in there too - enjoyed your style. You got all the technical stuff in there in language understandable to a non-techy person. The WWoV would absolutely be one of the first places I'd point someone wanting a good overview of e-smoking.

My one complaint... I still wanna know what the PVs with the pretty bubble design are. :p LoL.

Never watched Buffy--I was one of the 3 people who liked the movie and never gave the TV show a fair shot. No scoffing from me, however, once I gave Firefly a chance I loved Joss' writing style and character development so I'm willing to give it a look, just haven't gotten 'round to it.

I believe that writing a musical episode is automatically classified as a Jumping of the proverbial Shark.

I've seen every episode of Buffy from every season... in sequential order, of course... after I got over the fact that Sarah Michelle Gellar wasn't, and never will be, Kristy Swanson. It was a tough transition for me, to be sure.

So don't feel bad, Don... this just proves there's a 14-year old girl inside of all of us! 8-o

BTW, the Necronomicon is an actual book (supposedly ancient, but likely dreamed up in the early, 20th century)... and Army of Darkness makes only the loosest of references to it. Because you seem like a very literate sort, Don... may I point you toward the writings of HP Lovecraft (who most likely dreamed up this evil tome in connection with actual Sumerian mythos)... he's much more informative on the subjects covered in the Necronomican than any Raimi film could ever be...

Oh, and sorry for the digression and obscure references... I must've been having a Dennis Miller moment...

Don,
Thank you SOOO much for putting together this wealth of information in one easy location. I am going to keep the link handy and refer to it often (being a fairly newbie...6 weeks smoke free...HURRAY!). You Rock (and I love your style too...I had to chuckle as i read through everything...page after page)! You made it not only educational, but entertaining too! Thanks again!

This is absolutely a must-read for anyone who vapes or for anyone who is interested in vaping! I sure wish I read your guide before being suckered in by the SE goons at the mall. But oh well....tuition I say.

I really love your writing style Don. Very informative and entertaining at the same time. The humor and the pics definitely make it a fun read!

Thanks again for the guide! They should definitely add it to the e-cig wiki, if not replace it entirely!

I have to say, I just started getting in to vaping, but the WWV article was far and above the most helpful thing I came across.

The issue with ECF, I've found, is that even though it's a wealth of information, it's hard to get any idea what's going on just reading threads--I had no framework to put all the information in before I read WWV. After reading WWV, I at least knew the basic ideas behind e-cigs, and what all of the common models were called and what they were in relation to other e-cigs.

As soon as I actually get my e-cig, and people inevitably ask me about it, I will be pointing them to the WWV article. More than anything, it helped me understand everything going on here. So: thanks, DonDaBoomVape.

Awesome guide! I just have one request -- could you remove the tags that make all the text black (in the guide)? I use the dark forum theme and it makes it hard to read your stuff. Better, in my opinion, to leave the text color alone so that the forum theme determines what it should be (unless of course you need to put something in blue or red or whatever).

great and complete info, I'm not sure if I am more or less confused about what direction to go as I have not started this journey yet. I am looking (at least at first) to find the most reliable starting kit that I can (for now) just replace my away from home smoking ie mainly at work. I need or at least want the most cost effective, lowest maintenance way of doing it. What do you suggest?
Thank you so much for all the time you put into this project, it has really given me allot to think about and research.

Parky50 just provided a very good suggestion and lead. The 510 received the Vapy Award for "Best Starter Kit" and Cignot won the award for both "Best Customer Service" and "Bang for the Buck." [My own 510 Guide (referenced in my signature) was commissioned by the "Best Overall Supplier," NHaler.]

However, your mention of "lowest maintenance" points to the Kr8 (second only to the 510 in the Vapy Awards and my new "Quick and Dirty" suggestion). It is sold by myriad suppliers and under several brand names, including: NHaler (KR808D-1), Vapor4Life (Vapor King), PureSmoker (Ace), CigEasy (Easy), GoodProphets (VapoRite), LeCig (D1), and VaporKings (KR808D-1). Those are just the ones I've dealt with. And, from China, by Heaven Gifts. I think CigEasy has the lowest (U.S.) price at this time.

I would use the word campy to describe Army of Darkness...very much along the lines of Shaun of the Dead...

It did also however really start the career of Bruce Campbell as quite a witty actor in just about everything he's been in be it that, or burn notice, bubbahotep (not terribly widely seen but bloody brilliant (come on elvis, a mummy and a black JFK how can you go wrong), or even cloudy with a chance of meatballs..though not terribly dynamic from one character to the next...

Great guide. Helped me alot. Just one question. Is VG more healthier than PG or does it not matter?
Thanks, bobbysox!
since this is really Don's thread I'll let him cover the PG vs VG thing in detail....but for me I trust PG more and only suggest VG if someone is sensitive to PG or to use a tiny bit to tweak vapor output
You didn't need to hesitate responding to bobbysox's question, Drozd, even in my thread.:D I already did "cover the PG vs VG thing in detail" in Part 3, at least in the detail permitted by my knowledge. [That "Dilettante" under my avatar is not just me being playful; I really do know a little bit about a lot of vaping things.]

To give you a summary (non-medical, layman's) answer, bobbysox: VG is not "more healthier" than PG. It's not even healthier than PG.;) [Sorry. I must have some schoolmarm DNA mixed in with my genes.]

Both PG and VG are innocuous, vaporable base liquids, into which flavoring and a selectable amount of nicotine are mixed. Some people are alergic to PG, so VG is recommended for them. Also, some people prefer VG (for example, saying that it produces more vapor). Obviously, Drozd is not one of them (many people feel that PG produces greater flavor and/or throat hit). Different strokes for different folks.

For more information, check out the relevant links provided in Part 3.

Don, thanks for "The Wonderful World of Vaping" post. I am a noob and trying to absorb lots of info to make the right choice for me in purchasing my first e-cig.

Soooo much here to read about!
Guide? This is encyclopedia!!!!

I can go from newbie to evangelist in one page!!!

Thanks a million for this outstanding guide, the effort, research, information and a truly riveting writing style that made me read every word.

Uh... thanks for the singing(?)!
Thank you both! Yes, It is something of an encyclopedia, Vidyut ... but not a complete or flawless one. BTW, I saw that question mark in your comment about my singing! <-- Only teasing, of course. It's not for everyone.
