Is the center pin on the ZAP "springy". You should be able to push it in and have it 'spring' right back out. I read about a couple-few other people with a similar problem and the spring inside the ZAP was gunked up. Taking it apart and cleaning it fixed them up.

Cool. Your the best! Thanks for taking your personal time to respond. In fact I cant get the pin to move at all. Seems to be completely stuck. Of course I have not tried real hard because I dont want to wreck it but ya, it sure doesnt move easily. Ill disect it when I get home tonight and clean it up. Im not shocked it needs a deep clean as I got this one the first run that ProVape got these in stock and its heavily used.

So thanks again. Ill report back my success story as soon as I can :)

Just finished and it now works perfectly. Before I would tighten it as far as I could. Not it fires while it is loosely connected. Just barely snug it up and my button and hole are lined up perfectly how I like. Thanks again for posting that tip :)

Just bought a mechanical mod and I was wondering if my ZAP would fit because of the shroud. I guess it does :)

I don't believe there's any practical solution to lieing the zap down long-term. Even if you plug the airhole, it'll only collect more liquid inside the cap by the post then when you take the top cap off, splash! Nope, zap needs to remain upright at all times just like the security guard at our local bank lol. Of course I may be wrong that's why I added "I believe" !

Looks good to me but Im hoping the top cap fits on tighter somehow and its not just the logo on the cap. Have you heard anything more about it then whats in Phils visit with Zen?

No, I haven't heard anything else other than phil's hour long interview. He mentions that it will initially or eventually come with ceramic wicks, which I am excited about. Seems like zen is getting away from ss mesh in his products. I just hope that his ceramic wicks will be available individually and will fit the current zap's. Also he mentions that the new version will be available in the next few weeks. He might be planning on a Vape Bash launch.

He said he is just working with the guy that is making the FC2000 ceramic wicks that are available right this minute. Hopefully if you buy them now they will have the Zen improvements. Are you sure the larger size wick doesnt fit in the Zen right now. I have some of those wicks laying around but my ZAP is rocking so good I dont want to take it apart. Remember, with the ceramic there is no need for the insulator so the wick hole is actually much larger than it is for mesh. I took my insulator out a while ago and just looking I think its already plenty big enough for the larger of the two sized ceramic wicks.

Who has them in stock? I've been looking for these for a while now, and they're never in stock. I noticed that discount vapers has 3 different sizes now instead of just 2 originally (but all are out of stock currently) 1/8, 7/64, and 3/32. I'm guessing that 7/64 is the one we need for the zap right? With the insulator out of course. 7/64 converts to 2.77mm, and the wick hole in the zap with the insulator out is 3mm I believe. 1/8 would be 3.17mm and too big for the wick hole.

Can't speak for the current ones being shipping or the newer ones to come - but the 1/8" ceramic wicks I got from Tankecigs a month ago basically fit fine in a ZAP w/ the insulator removed. I said 'basically' because a couple required a very light sanding to remove some high spots for it to slip easily into/out-of the ZAP's wick hole.

Thanks. I checked out Tankecigs and they have the 1/8" in stock, so I ordered some to experiment with. I will keep in mind that I may need to lightly sand them down to fit.

Thanks for that. I didnt know there were 3 sizes now. I got my wicks in a coop a little bit back. They were 1/8 and 3/32. So I was referring to the 1/8 but like I said I hadnt tried yet. As MikeE3 pointed out though it sounds like they should work either stock or with light sanding.

Awesome news. Im down to only 5 more wicks. They seem to break without me knowing how I broke them. I actually have two working just fine that broke a week or more after install and so long I keep it shoved in the hole and touching the other broken half they seem to still be working fine. So Ill keep those going as long as I can.
