I blame spelling. If it isn't spelled correctly, the eye just glazes over. Fallis? Phallus. See?

Y'all do know that the message posting software is censored? Try putting in George Carlin's seven words you can't say on television, hit "preview post" and see what you get. You can be piss(ed) off if your PV dies, but if your PV goes "George Carlin's word for boobies" up and you want to chat, that isn't gonna fly.

Funny what's considered obscene - and what isn't.

A few disclaimers first:

1. I'm only 1 month old in terms of vaping
2. I live in Australia
3. I'm vaping with 78mm silver Volt batts with green, purple and white LEDs

Aside from being similar size and shape to normal cigs, and the fact that white mist is being exhaled, it'd be hard for someone paying any attention to mistake it with either smoking or doing something illegal. *However* vaping here is very much in it's infance compared to the US, or at least I think it is going by the comments on this site. We don't have any b&m stores that I know of and the only juices you can buy from Aussie vendors - even online - aren't allowed to contain nicotine, which kinda sucks cos flying stuff in from the US isn't exactly cheap.

That said I ape everywhere, even in places where I wouldn't have smoked like shops and cinemas. In the cinema though I use a stealth cap cos the light would be annoying for others. I wouldn't do it in a restaurant for the same reason I wouldn't carry on a conversation on my mobile phone - if it annoys or distracts me if others do it, I won't do it myself.

In the month I've been doing this I've got some curious looks from strangers and coworkers, but as soon as people realize it doesn't have any odor at all I seem to be left alone, which is a bit of a shame because as a recent convert I'd love to have an actual face-to-face conversation with someone about it.

Am yet to see PVs advertised in any form over here...

If one takes a giant mod out in public, they should expect to draw attention. Most probably want it, or they would use something a little more discreet.

Not really. I use a larger PV because I like not having to change batteries constantly. I use a large tank so I know I won't run out of liquid and I can see at a glance how much I have in there. I don't have multiple different devices. I have two of the same thing. One is my backup the other I take wherever I go.

I've gotten over being discreet. I don't notice if people look at me or not, I just go about my business. I'm not an attention seeker but if someone asks, I'm more than willing to explain. I do admit to being passionate about ecigs but it is largely behind the scenes. Like writing to local and state reps when calls to action go out from CASAA, filling out surveys when they are needed, telling my story when asked to help the cause. Yes, I put myself out there for those things, but to draw attention to myself in public? Not really so much. I just do my own thing. Getting by, just like any other person living their life. I'm not being discreet, nor am I being obnoxious.

9 months of vaping will tend to make vaping feel like it is a normal thing to do. I'm just a regular person who would have been still smoking if Mr. Robin hadn't mentioned ecigs in a conversation in an offhand way.

Or because the larger battery size means I can take my Zmax out all day will a freshly charged battery and be reasonably secure in the idea it will last me all day. Same with one, or two, full cartotanks or Vivi Nova style tanks. Or because I prefer the performance of said devices over what would constitute as a "discreet" setup. Do I get a little more attention for it? Yeah, I do, but that isn't the intention. The intention is to make my life, and my vaping experience, more pleasurable and more convenient.

I get tons of screwed up looks from other people while I'm out, not so much law enforcement. I think most of the cops around here are wise to what they are now. The Tesla garners more attention than the ProVari, it's so big! It's like an APV for people who still have the 80's mentality of bigger is better. :D

Please remember that absolutely no reference any illicit materials is allowed. This includes any type of paraphernalia.

Thanks.

I sincerely apologize for my use of... well, I apologize. I was just trying to say law enforcement looks through a different set of eyes than the rest of the population and we should be patient with them until they learn about our way of nicotine consumption.

Again I apologize, it was completely my fault for not abiding by the rules of this forum and from this point on I will be more aware in my postings.

Heck, even my Ego freaks people out! Two old school folks I know said straight out that it looks like I'm doing drugs. It does. I drive a company van with a company logo on it and I am cautions where I vape when I'm on the road. I don't want people to think XXX HVAC has a dope smoker workin for them. IDK, I'd rather this be kept on the lowdown. The more it increases in popularity the more regulations and taxes we can expect.

This is exactly what I refuse to do. I will not conduct myself based on the ignorance of others. It is not our fault as vapers that other people are unaware of this new technology. It is not illegal, so I personally refuse to let myself feel like I am doing something illegal or have to hide my actions all because some judgmental yahoo wants to label something they have no clue about.

I am a strong supporter of this forum, and I try to abide by the rules at all times, but I cannot help but feel like this whole censoring thing is getting a bit excessive. I can see not wanting people to discuss using vape products for other substances, but just the mere mention of it seems to freak everyone out. The guy was only repeating what the cops told him, there is a huge difference in this and advocating the use of other substances. I have even seen people get reprimanded for mentioning e-solid atomizers, yet companies like Fast Tech are actually selling nicotine based e-solids for use in these atomizers.

I get the whole point about separating our hobby from the other stuff, but when we become this uptight about it, aren't we doing the same thing the cops did in the OPs story? And let's not forget, those "other substances" are legal in places of the U.S., so why are we trying to alienate those people from discussing their--completely legal--hobby on the forum here.

And yes, I've read the sticky about all this.
