So every time I hear news reports, legislative debates, etc. about e-cigs, it is mentioned that we do not really know the risks of vaping due to no studies being made. Does anyone know if there are any studies in the pipeline regarding e-cigs? While I am guessing vaping does have some risks, but not nearly as many as smoking, it would be nice to be able to quantify those risks a bit better.

There have been studies done. I participated in one locally at Virginia Commonwealth University and Boston Univ. was also doing one. Unfortunately, we are a long ways off from knowing the long term effects of vaping as they just haven't been out long enough. Personally, I'll risk possible long term issues over the known issues of smoking anyday.

lol, here is a study the Wikipedia article linked to: Study: 'Electronic cigarettes' don't deliver - CNN.com. They claim they measured no nicotine being delivered. While I am usually loathe to take anecdotal evidence and/or personal experience over a study (am a BIG fan of the scientific method), this just does not hold water. How could so many die-hard smokers switch to vaping if this were true? I do not believe it for one second.

this study was poorly done, and the person who did it is now redoing the study. It's probably the one that ctourtelot participated in.
