When I first became a REOnaut it seemed like most of the juice recommendations were for higher VG juices. Or even all VG thanks to the great tasting juices from Ben at Allien Visions.
That was almost a year ago and I had vaped happily on 100% PG juices for about 10 months before I joined the ECF gang. I pretty quickly made the switch to quality vendors and higher VG juices.
For the record I have always mixed my Boba's bounty with another PG juice to achieve about 75/25 VG/PG mix. Some all VG juices are so thick they just don't seem to wick well or even reach the coil well on 510 style attys IMO.
My other all day vape is LiquidXpress Taboo as many of you know. It comes in all PG or all VG and I started out with the PG version. After getting my first REO I started buying both and mixing them at first 50/50, then 75/25 VG/PG.
Something recently has me enjoying PG juices more and more.
It started with the eGo-T type-B kit I got about 8 weeks ago. As some might know it works better with PG juice for the wicking aspect.
So I loaded it up with my Taboo in 100% PG. It tasted great, very different than on the REO.
I hate to say it but I started using that eGo-T more and more. After I while I wanted my taboo to taste like it did on the eGo-T with my REO. I first thought it was just the difference in attys. I watched a video where cossicon said he liked the eGo-T because it had that Joye atty taste and he always enjoyed the taste. I too like Joye LR 510s the best on my REOs. All attys have a different taste and of Cisco, IKV, and Joye I like the Joye the best. And it seems to recover from a dry hit taste (dratty) on the very next hit.
So that got me thinking. A couple of days ago I put the 100% PG in the REO on a Joye LR 510 at 4v and boom it tasted just like the eGo-T type B did (as long as I didn't get the atty too wet).
I know they are supposed to be the same flavor in either PG or VG but there is no way to get them exactly the same. I think VG is supposed to be sweeter but I'm not really getting that.
Since then I have broke out a couple of other 100% PG juices and been very happy with them.
I guess what I am saying just like 1000 other variables in vaping it all comes down to what tastes best to you.
I wouldn't say there is pressure to use higher VG, but in the back of my mind I had the notion to be a true "hardcore" vaper I should be using higher VG juice.
Maybe it just fits me better, but don't discount 100% PG juice. What ever works for ya !!
I don't notice a dramatic drop off in vapor production or an increase in throat hit.
I just seem to like the flavors better.
And yes 100% PG works great in a REO (I've never used the reducer tube either)
Plus it seems like a lot of the products are designed and tested in China with PG juices so your results with other PVs or attys cartos and tanks might improve as well.
Just wanted to let you know I've put the "stigma" PG juice = lower quality away at big hitters house.
Just gonna keep on experimenting and using what works best for me.
Thats my story for the day ..... Vape on and have a great day !!
