I know that quitting smoking has led me to an addiction that can be quite hazardous to your health, motorcycles. I never would have thought of buying a motorcycle until I started vaping and then using snus. However, as the money I saved by not smoking mounted, I decided to buy a motorcycle and the addiction grew.

I'd ride spring summer, fall and winter as long as there wasn't snow or ice on the ground. After a couple years, another cycle and just recently a third, all paid for in cigarette savings. I have no respect for the automobile anymore as I have more and more separated myself from mainstream society. Yes, the addiction is so strong that I'm already thinking about my next "fix", perhaps a large tourer or a Can Am. People around me are even talking intervention.

Most of us often heard people say ...
Just think about would you could buy with the money
you have spent on cigarettes.

I got the calculator out once ...
I smoked 2 to 3 packs-a-day for over 40 years.

At the very least, a new vaper could foot the bill for a really nice mod and a 6 month supply of various juices and a stock of batteries and atomizers. And, that's just the first month. After that, it's cheap.

Even at carton prices, it's still expensive. I smoked whatever name brand was on sale for around $30 a carton. I'd smoke a carton in 5 days. That's $180 a month. If you buy two pack deals every day, it's much more.

Good ecigs aren't expensive ... they are really dirt cheap in the long run, provided you don't buy one of each kind just to try in your search for the Holy Grail.

The answer to this, surprisingly, is probably not - unless it is administered in cigarette smoke,
which is presumed to cause some sort of chemical change in the brain.

Over my years on this forum, taking in all the research and vaper testimonies that I have read and forming an opinion, I have come to the conclusion that...

--Some people who have been smoking for a long time may have a hard time reducing their nicotine intake
--Many people who have been smoking for a long time do not have a hard time reducing their nicotine intake

I think that in general nicotine by itself is not very addictive, if at all.
But when combined with smoking, it can create a nicotine addiction that some people have a harder time breaking than other people do.
