I stand corrected, it appears as though dekang has ceased to use diacetyl. They also list their PG as usp. But they also list it as food grade... Confusing. (the two are different in purity and often source)

Are they a bad company? No, not by any stretch. Do they warrant a degree of caution? I think so, if for no other reason than their country of origin, and then only because of precedents set, unfortunate as that may be. I'm also of the sort that doesn't believe that mass produced products are equal in quality to small batch operations... Particularly when it comes to chemicals, food and specialized equipment.

I would have to agree 100% ...again with the Doctors post...we all take the risk and although it is less of a risk then smoking we all know it is a risk...as for China I would not order a safty harness from there or a hard hat ....and yes I do check my CSA approved safty boots as well! .....a tee shirt from wally world 1/3rd the price of every where eles yup I am in...but I wash it before I put it on lol!

Interesting point. I'm in my 50's and up until I quit smoking and took up vaping I had NEVER known what allergy suffers went through. These last two summers of vaping ..... I now have allergy reactions ... weird.

as a side note, I have gone from 24mg to 18mg and now I use a lot of 12mg for chain vaping but I don't ever want to fully get rid of the nic all together as it is a Bronchio dialator and with out it I am back on seroid inhalers!!....you know the stuff thats just as addictive and harmfull to your lungs as smoking!

As I mentioned earlier I did some googling regarding shortness of breath and found hundreds of personal accounts, as well as chest tightness. Here is an example of a thread on the subject of SOB:

It has been over 6 months since I quit smoking in Apr. after one pack/day for over 30 years, and the short of breath (SOB) and chest tightness (CT) are still with me on and off. I can play a round golf by walking 18 holes with none problem of breathing but I could get SOB for no reason for a while and gone even sitting at my office chair.

Also I have chest tightness (CT) on and off for sometime coupled with mucous up in the throat but not much coughed, checked one doctor with X-ray examined OK and it was clear with breathing sound cleared by doc. Doc said it will take some time to recover, just feel calm after seeing the other poster in this thread said it may take a year to recover. Hope the damage to my lungs caused by longtime smoking is not too bad.

I'm not trying to discount the possibility of having a reaction to ejuice, just saying that it could be this or that. Good to take both into consideration. Seems like the lung changes can appear even after some time off the cigs or drag on for quite a while.

Modern allergy meds (2nd gen) are much lower dosage, much longer lasting and have fewer side effects, Claritin, Zyrtec and Allegra are examples of 2nd gen meds. These anti-histamines take longer to kick in and have a much stricter dosage limit, heart probems can occur if dosage reccomendations are exceeded so the package labels must be obeyed.

Nasal sprays and eye drops are available to treat more specific symptoms of general hayfever and generally work well.


Other treatments-

Adrenalin fueled rage clears up allergies pretty quick.
The intake of large quantities of alcohol tend to suppress the immune system thus stopping symtoms, the side effects are preeeetty baaad though.


Currently I use the B, C & Omega 3 vitamins and 2nd gen meds to treat my rather crippling hayfever symptoms.

I think there is no doubt that vaping drys your throat and mouth out . If I vape say at work enough then try to speak my vocal cords can some of the time be so dry I need a sip of water to talk normally or I have to clear my throat out . Plus PG and I guess VG and certainly nicotine are irritants so a long night of vaping can irritate your lungs a bit much like smoking , too much of anything has an effect . I think it is possible that vaping pulls moisture from tissue a bit as well .

I'm late to the party here but one thing that will help, no matter the cause is exercise. I haven't coughed up anything since quitting cigs a month ago. If I could get off my .... and start walking or riding my exercise bike, that would change.

We used to smoke cigarettes periodically. Vapers tend to clutch their ecig like a rescue inhaler. Sometimes while sitting in front of the computer I'll suddenly realize I've been hitting my PV like it was an oxygen mask! That's when I notice the heavy feeling in my chest like I smoked too much. I vape 100% PG juices. Too much of anything in the lungs can irritate.

We all should use the ecig to satisfy periodic nic cravings, like we did with cigarettes, not as a pacifier, IMO.

BTW, USP and Food Grade are much the same from what I read. Once a USP container has been opened, poured into another container, and outside air is introduced it is no longer USP grade. It becomes food grade material at that point and is suitable for oral use. USP is injectable quality and purity.

I just bought some tobacco flavoring from Liberty Flights and it really helped boost the flavor of some really light VG juices I had. 1ML added to 60ML of the premixed juice I had did the trick. It might be worth a try for you....
