I forgot to add this into my 1 year vaperversary thread so decided to start a new one.

When I started vaping, and reading ECF, I vowed I was never going to:
  • drip
  • fill cartos with juice
  • use a syringe
  • mix my own juices
  • create my own flavours
Well, I haven't dripped or created my own flavours (though I did buy the doings), but after much resistance, I was dragged kicking & screaming into filling my own cartos - with a syringe, no less
Mixing juices because only 8mg & 0mg were available, not 4mg. Then because Wowboy Peppermint was too pepperminty, so I worked on different rations of Wowboy & Wowboy Peppermint.

So, were there vaping related things you were never going to do, that are now part of your vaping routing?

Gotta agree with a couple of yours katz , was never going to use juice or a syringe either. Once I discovered how tasty the different juices were I became hooked. And after only stabbing myself a couple times I think I got the needle to behave.
Haven't started DIY mixing and don't really feel the need but never say never!

Yeah, at the beginning I didn't think I'd want to spend the time refilling. I figured I would always buy prefilled and not worry about it. That changed pretty quickly! I also thought I'd always use manual batteries, but I've since changed exclusively to auto diamonds. And of course I thought that I'd only use menthol and tobacco flavors, never doing anything else. Wrong!

I'm still not hot on the idea of using a syringe, but I know better now than to tell myself it definitely won't happen :)

I was NOT...emphatically NOT going to try flavored juices and use "frilly" batteries :p So, that didn't even last through my first order because I read advice from one of the regular posters to ALWAYS have backup batteries ;) And, while "lurking," I saw how people we raving about the flavored juices...so...the rest, as they say, is history

Hey, if you are trying something new, like vaping, try EVERYTHING new, right?

I never thought I would use a syringe for refilling, that's for sure. I also never thought I would stay on this sub-forum. When I joined this sub-forum it was anything but warm and friendly.

The Class of 2009 which were the first posters when V4L opened this sub-forum were quite guarded, new members were not welcomed, questions from new members either went unanswered or were answered with an obvious condescending and patronizing tone. There were a few exceptions, but even they were hesitant to go against the grain.

It irked me enough I decided to take a different approach which was to do everything in my power to change that.

 "turkey butts" :)

I thought I would never:
Completely quit smoking
Use a manual battery
Drip into a carto
Re-fill a carto with juice
Use a syringe to refill cartos
Use blank cartos
Clean cartos

Of that list, I am happy to report that I have only kept the last resolution (after a few long-drawn-out so-not-worth-the-hassle attempts at cleaning). :) :vapor:

EDIT: Oh, and I know I will never do any DIY, unless vaping is forced underground . . . :grr:

Wow Snow, that's incredible! I would never have guessed this sub-forum had ever been like that. One of the things that drew me to V4L in the first place was this forum, because it is so warm, friendly, helpful & informative. All I can say is that you did a great job turning it around. Thank you!

Ms. Katz if you read back on the early threads you'll see what Snow sir means.... Ms. Mary Kay, Ms. Keyzy, and Snow sir are the three who got me in here, had I joined 6 months earlier, not sure if I would have stuck around.... A support forum should be warm and inviting to everyone. A place where all can learn, vet or new person alike... There's a reason Snow sir gets a lot of praise around here, can't think of anyone who's been a bigger help to people.... :)

Here's another thing I wasn't going to do that I forgot: Use a manual battery.

I now have 3 of the new Original Vapor King Diamond regular manuals in matte black with green leds. Only problem is, one appears to be DOA. Chargers insist it's charged and its led flashes when I put it in the charger, but nothing happens when I press its button. Tried raising the post, didn't help.

Using a manual is weird after a year of using autos. They're nice & long and give good vapour, problem is remembering to stop pushing the button. Guess I'll get used to them if I persevere.
