Okay, now going on about six months since I started vaping. Like most newbies, I thought I knew it all. Here are a few things I'll admit I was wrong about.

1. The iClear 30 isn't such a bad tank after all. When I first got it I hated it. Even ripped it in a review I wrote of the MVP2. Oh gee, I had to keep twirling it to keep the wick saturated, it's the end of the world. Now I use it every day. Produces wonderful vapor. Find myself reaching for it over my protank minis when I want a good, full flavored vape. And love twirling it. Why not?

2. Steeping. Yeah yeah, I hate steeping. Even called it a myth. Now I'm vaping some juice that was tasteless five months ago that has suddenly become full flavor. But still, waiting five months for a juice to steep. Not a huge fan of that, but I'll at least admit it's possible when I couldn't even fathom it as a newbie.

3. Don't charge your battery off your computer. It was probably my first or second day here that someone warned me not to charge the battery in the USB port off my computer. Yeah yeah, I knew it all. Well this weekend I forgot to unplug it overnight. I can't say with 100% that the battery was the cause, only with, maybe 80% certainty, but nonetheless my computer and my modum fried and had to buy both new. Needless to say it's taking me forever to type this on my new keypad that's different than my old keypad because most of the time it looks like this, oy ;ppd ;olr yjod/

4. I don't like mints all that much after all. Rarely touch them anymore. Maybe they were just a winter thing.

5. I kind of suck at DIY. My first couple of batches of DIY came out pretty good. Ever since then they've just been blah. I still like doing it. They are vapeable. But I'm no chef at it. Guess I'll stick with vaperature instead.

Well as they say, th-th-th-that's all folks.

What were you wrong about? HMMMM?

Glad you made this thread!

The iClear30 is indeed a great clearo. Although the protanks gained quite the following here, I found the iClear to be able to compete with them in the very least, and to outperform them at best. The original pro tank I loved, the second not so much...

Also, perhaps one of the BIGGEST myths I see spread on this forum among new users, is that steeping really isn't that important, or doesn't really make that much of a difference. I see newbies post this time and time again.....that steeping really has little to no effect on the e-liquid. Nothing could be further from the truth! In fact, there are MANY things that affect the taste of our beloved e-juice. The delivery device, nicotine content, steeping (or lack of), among other things.

Steeping can make the difference between an unbearably bad taste, and a very good flavor. Some e-liquids NEED to be steeped to bring out the proper flavor....while other e-liquids require little to no steeping.

Neat thread!

1. Never thought I'd use anything that didn't look like a cigarette; boy, was I wrong!!!
2. Thought my favorite vape would be menthol - yuc - hate vaping menthol!!
3. Thought I'd never buy a ProVari - unattractive, silly, too expensive, etc. Now I have 4 and love them!
4. Never thought I'd join this community - these people are nuts, really really obsessed, etc. Now? I check it even BEFORE I check email, and am still ignoring all my other hobbies even after almost 6 months!
5. Never imagined this would become a hobby - big WRONG AGAIN!!
6. Never thought I'd worry that ecigs would be banned or overly taxed or their use restricted. Sadly, wrong!

I'm sure there are others and will probably be more....

When I first heard about e-cigarettes, a few years ago, I was certain that NOTHING could replace the cigarettes that had always been at my side for the past 40+ years and quickly poo-pooed the idea. When I did start using them, I thought that I only had to vape tobacco flavor to get the full effect. Doh! Like many other here have stated, I could go on and on.......

I agree - I mean, after 40 years smoking, what could be better???

TRIBECA.......LOL Who knew?

Oh, and surely cigalikes were the only way to go (Yeah, that lasted less than week)

I'll never rebuild (that lasted a month)

DIY? (three months later)

That flavor is NASTY (a month later -delicious)

I hate tobacco flavors (don't take away my Boba's Bounty)

Oh yuck - Mother's Milk is awful (my adv currently)

I could go on............:p

I thought I was just vaping to get through a work conference
Then I thought, hmm - not bad, but no need to quit smoking
Then I thought I'd stick with a bunch of Joyetech stick batteries
Then I thought I'd stick with a bunch of Ego batteries
Then I thought I'd stick with an SVD
And I thought, I'm done with cartos, I'm using clearos from now on
And I thought, Hey, my DIY is pretty good - now I'm going to really save money
Then I thought one ProVari would be plenty
And I thought this is the LAST time I build a coil
And I thought dripping sounded like nothing but a hassle

Things I Was Wrong About:
- I will buy an eGo, tank, charger, some juice and that'll be it.
- I will never get and MVP or similar box mod. I'll get an eGo style and that'll be the end of it.
- I will save money by quitting smoking
- I smoke menthol, therefore menthol e-juice will be great!
- Vaping will never help me quit.

I have been wrong about A LOT of things and I'm ONLY about 2 months into this!

Thought I'd ONLY be able to vape tobacco flavors, although Tribeca is my #1 and that'll probably never change, it's probably tied with my love for SWEET candies/bakery flavors.

I remember saying, out loud, "I hope I don't end up like those people who can't just be happy with what they've got, I don't want to keep buying bigger and better things, why change what already works!" THIS WILL BECOME MY BIGGEST WRONG!!! In 2 months I went from V2 and Green Smoke to Ego, then Ego Twist/Vision Spinners to itaste VV V3 to Sigelei Zmax mini to Sigelei Zmax V3! From small cartos with my V2 to 808 threaded top coil tanks to 510 threaded top coil tanks to Protank 2 Mini to carto tanks to carto tanks, top coils AND bottom coils lol. And for both the devices and delivery systems, I STILL want more lol. I've got 2 lock boxes and 1 stand up small tool organizer full and I couldn't even tell you how many different juices!

I never thought I'd even consider a mod, or even an Ego for that matter, I was sticking with the small cig-a-likes and that was it!

I thought 'I've got enough hobbies as it is, this is NOT going to become another', it's now my ONLY hobby lol.

As a PP said, I thought vaping would SAVE me money, yep, not so much.

I have said and will ALWAYS say though, Vaping has been one of the BEST things I've ever done for not only me, but for my entire family! And this community is just amazing, you guys have really helped me through SO many issues along the way, answered ALL of my questions and have truly become like friends!

I thought when I first started vaping that it was just to cut back on cigs. I was wrong. I tasted vaping and stopped that day. I thought I'd save money by switching, LOL. Right! My first week I thought tobacco flavors that tasted like real cigs was what I wanted. A week into it that changed quickly. I thought making my own juices would save money, it does if I'd stop buying every flavor ever invented. I thought I'd get my husband into vaping too, which I did, that we would save tons of money...ha ha. Now we both buy tons of new mods and atomizers. Instead of one of everything, now I have to buy 2

I thought vaping was the best thing ever invented... I believe that one I got right. :vapor:
