Alright so i'm probably overly excited about joining the ranks of all of you and setting myself up with a PV for the first time. In my excitment and anticipation of my order being shipped out, and the prospect of having things sorted for the weekend, my goal of course is to quit analogs all together. ( maybe not overnight but hey...)

With this in mind i've been making a mental list of all the things I won't miss about analogs...
1) Smelly everything
2) Anxiety - this is a big one for me... no more anxiety about plane trips or long car rides or any situation that won't allow me to smoke.
3) Health worries
4) random eye drags.... won't miss those one bit.
5) planning my day around "smoke breaks"
6)MONEY SPENT! at almost 10 bucks a pack ... i'm not going to miss that at all!
7) i'm sure i'll think of more...

Just thought i'd share

Don't worry, once you get to a certain point , you will spend less money. I have tons of juice (enough to keep me through an FDA ban for a bit). And several different e cig set ups. For those equipment failure times. (oh crap my atomizer just died moments). I spend roughly $40 a month now. As opposed to $240 a month on cigs. It just takes a bit of time to find what e cig you like. Cartridges, or Cartomizers, or Drip Tips, ect. And what e cig you like best. Good luck in your venture. It is fun to find new e juices too. :)

Things I won't miss...

1-people bumming smokes off of me (for me about 25 cents each, several a day !)

2-getting burned (smoke in eyes, ashes falling on shirt-pants, hot lighters, holding .... too long in fingers)
(NOTE: YOU DO NOT WANT TO GET JUICE IN YOUR EYES...YOU WILL FEEL THE WRATH OF HELL!)

3-having to smoke outside in rain-heat-cold

just a couple, sure there are a million more, lol

btw....i havent saved any $ either but i am sure i will over the long haul

also, welcome to ya, glad ya here !

I'm in the hole pretty bad as well, but I figure that it will be another month or two before I break even. That's assuming I manage to curb my spending and resist the temptation to buy a Reo Grande when they become available on the 17th :D

A couple more things I won't miss:
- Being winded from going up a flight of stairs
- Waking up with a sore throat if I smoked too much the night before
- Always having to carry mints around (now I can just vape some spearmint juice :) )
- Being in a foul mood when I couldn't break free for a smoke (dinner @ the missus' parents for example)

Being as I'm already looking at purchasing more ( and my first PV hasn't even arrived) I understand that the MONEY factor isn't really in play. Although at least i'm not spending hundreds a month on analogs ;)

Very small world indeed expat - My guess i'f you've been here you understand how small it is. I probably know ( or know of) your friends.

One more big on on my list. No more "sermons" from the inlaws on the terrible habit and how i should just "quit"

I for one have saved quite a bit of money. Even with my juice and pv purchases I haven't hit 75 a week I was spending on smokes.

I don't miss the smokers cough, smelling like an ashtray or the crap in my mouth coating my teeth and tongue. Or having my sinus constantly stuffed up. I don't miss that fidgety feeling when I want and can't have a smoke. There are so many things I just don't miss at all.

My other half just broke down and got his own Pv this week. He quit for 2 months cold turkey and then suddenly felt stressed and picked up smoking again. I finally got him to try my e-cig and he loves it. I bet you will enjoy vaping too.

I'm one of the people who kept track of my monthly spending on traditionals and set that as a limit to my monthly spending, but that only helped for so long, lol. I would have to say I have saved money, albeit not much.

Considering I was 1-2 packs of smokes per day, I would spend anywhere from $280-$450 per month @ $10 per pack.

An eGo is under $100 shipped and juice for the month can run me anywhere from $80-$120 for a months supply depending on the vendor. Tack on another $50 for a few low res atties and cheap-o drip tips and I come to roughly $270 for a starting month.

Proper care of your atomizers minimizes costs, so I only usually have to buy my juice for the month at around $100 per month average.

Well, I'm only a month in, and the $50/week from cigarettes hasn't got me to a break even point yet. That being said, it's not so much what *I* don't miss, but what I've gained - my wife doesn't avoid me post-smoke, my kid wants to be close to me more and I generally *feel* better, my breathing especially.

Ok, I won't miss my wife asking me when I'm going to quit. ;-) (She never really nagged, would just ask now and then)

haha I still have lighters all over (and still use on occasion, ecf forum rule can't say why). my spending has sure slowed down but I have given away a few juices that I couldn't vape. compare that to analogs, how many of us addicts would have given away smokes because the taste wasn't quite right. we'd complain but smoke them anyway. vaping is more of a conniseure (not sure on spelling, and I just woke up so not looking it up).

the smoke in eyes, yup don't miss that at all. my smoking bud asked me about that one and I vaped a huge cloud around my head to prove it.
