Hey all,
I was thinking about DIYing some flavors, but my attempts at mixing so far have just been bad. I have a few flavorings I wanted to add to pre-mixed .... a little bit more vanilla, or maybe some coffee, etc .... but I end up ruining everything.
Does it just take time, or are some people just gifted?

I am really tempted to get some PG/VG premixed nic from Mt Baker, and some flavors while their sale is on, but wouldn't know what to do from there.

Time and trial and error. I started DIY about 2 months ago. When i get new flavors in I just make very small (3mL) batches of each flavor individually at 10% flavor then try them. It is easy to dilute with 0 flavor juice that I keep made up for this reason and of course you can always add more (altho it will slightly change your nic and pg/vg ratios. But it gives you a good idea of where you want to be flavor wise. I have flavors that are best anywhere from 2.5% up to 20%. It is a lot of fun learning and trying new flavors. Some are winners and some are losers but it's not that costly to do. I buy new flavors from TPA in the 4mL size...very cheap and if it's not a winner...you have under 2$ in that flavor. If you find something you love, you can buy it in larger quantities. In the end when you have some nice juices in your collection, the savings over buying from vendors is enormous! Plus you never have that fear of running out. The DIY section of the forum has a wealth of information as far as the how to's and supplies that you will need, not to mention suggestions for where to obtain those supplies.

Good luck. :vapor:

I have a spreadsheet in Libre Office I use. I write down what I put in, mark a note or two. Next column over I write in the next attempt at it. Sort of helps cause you keep track of what flavors.

Coffee flavors are strong and can overpower everything else in the mix. Just an example might be 5 drops of coffee, 4 drops of sweetener and 7 drops of banana.... write the note "coffee still too strong". Next attempt drop the coffee down to 3 drops but use the other ingredients the same.... note taking might take some extra effort but it definitely helps.

I'm still way new at the DIY stuff and as of yet still have not make a killer juice, but the notes I am taking are helping.

easiest and cheapest way...make no nic liquid first...i use an old LorAnns dram to mix my stuff in...i just use PG when i am experimenting, no nic...much cheaper to throw away 3ml of PG and a couple of drop of flavoring that way...

simple way to do it...i use the same size dropper for all my measuring...that way the drops more or less are the same size..your going for percentage of flavors not actual quantity.

simple math.... if i want 30 drops of final vapable goodness and i want it to be mixed at 10%... then 30X10%=3...so 27 drops of PG and 3 drops of flavoring...i seal the bottle..submerge in a hot water bath...drip a few drops...vape

if its not strong enough or too strong then i go up or down in % and try again..

Thanks .... I may get some stuff to putter around with. I would just have to remember to write everything down, correct? Just my luck I would make 3mls of GREAT juice, then never be able to duplicate it. :)
