Does anyone have any suggestions for a new person thinking about trying mechanicals? I have tried and liked the vv vw mods but am scared to try mech.
Don't be scared, you just need to do your research.Look into Ohm's Law, there are plenty of videos on youtube explaining it. As for a starter device, I would get something relatively cheap like a magneto, no need in dropping $100+ if you end up not liking mechs. Mech mods are compltely safe as long as you know what you're doing. If the thought "I wonder what will happen if..." ever crosses your mind, don't do it. Research, research, research, know what you're doing. Know what your battery can handle, and know what kind of coils you're building (if you're doing rebuildable atomizers).

Magneto seems to be the best choice for a beginner modder. Do a lot of research and read all the blogs that Baditude has posted on mechs, mods, and battery safety. Use the right batteries, and if you are nervous about the idea invest in a "kick" or fuse for safety.

I hear the Magneto barely fits an 18650 battery, but they may have fixed that for the magneto II

What makes a 200 dollar mech mod superior to a 40 dollar mod? If they're built on the same premise (no circuit-board) do the materials involved really make that much of a difference?

Different materials equal out to different voltage drops. I know it sounds crazy but you can tell a difference between a k100 and a nemesis. At the end of the day all it does is hold a battery.

High school physics plus some good sense and you ll be fine. I am against unnecessary risks, but i am also just as much against being unneccessarily scared. Its not rocket science folks.

Well, yeah, it actually is rocket science if you think about it. What is a rocket or a mechanical mod? It's tube, with stored energy. Once the stored energy is excited beyond stored stability, a reaction occurs. When directed correctly and in the right balance you get a favorable controlled reaction. If the chemical balance is not correct one gets an explosive unfavorable reaction.

So, did I describe a rocket or did I describe mechanical vaping? Whatever you answer is, you are correct, that's exactly what it is, rocket science.

I have been using mechs for around a month I think I have barely touched my evic except to check the ohms on my builds..
I have the noble one, nemesis clone, and the mkb-ts (GG TS clone). Out of all of them I prefer the MKB I feel like it hits harder or just as hard as my nemesis. I use my nemmy for dripping and my mkb with my terminator c (Odysseus clone) it will soon have a ithaka clone.
When you get into mechs it just comes down to what feels good to you, what button do you like, what rba or rda do you prefer... Just like everyone has said always be safe! Invest in great batteries and know or at least try to learn ohms law.. There have been a few charts for it floating around somewhere. Good luck man, my recommendations are a Nemesis clone, MKB-TS, Magneto, & VHO Titan (I'll be getting one soon lol).
