Hey all. Been vaping for a little over a year now, and my progression has followed that of most; Ego + CE4, then on to Kanger clearomizers and low wattage reg mods - MVP2 and Sig V5, then to mechs + dripper and RTA.

I'm currently using a GP Heron RTA and TOBH dropper on a Paps. I guess I'm getting an acquisition disorder as I'm now looking into getting into a Genesis style atty.

Seems to me based on what I've read online is that Gennies provide a great vape but are hard to build on. Am I going to notice any difference in vaping experience using a Genesis compared to my Heron? Flavor-wise, my Heron is the best thing I have, even better than my dripper. Would a Genesis top that?

Also, not to go off subject, but to anyone who has a kayfun and Heron....is the flavor comparable between those two? Considering getting a KF too.

I have to say my ADV and favorite tobacco juice...Smooth Criminal by Ahlusion....only tastes its best wen using a genesis style atty with ss mesh or rope. I duno why but mesh brings out the flavor whereas cotton and silica mute it and add undesirable flavor notes. The Ithaka RBA for some reason tastes amazing but thats the only other atty i can use it in

The mesh is definitely the most faffy build style. IMO its worth it because when done right with the right juice, the flavor and experience is by far the most amazing thing ever. Add NI200 and a DNA40 and its even better. Trust me...a dry hit off mesh is the worst! Far worse than silica or cotton

My current fave genny is the Origen Genesis V2. It has countless wick hole configs and is designed for mesh and cotton...so it is very versatile. It has 2 whopping 4.5mm wick holes for cotton so its very easy to wick and no dry hits either.

It has 9 AFC settings up to dual 2.5mm holes and when wicked right it is also almost totally leak proof. My other gennies leak when lying down but for some reason the Origenny v2 just simply doesnt. Ive even turned it upside down for hours and nothing! Its pretty cool. It is also relatively affordable depending where u get it...between $120-170. Many high end gennies that are far less versatile run $200-300.

Plus lets face it...it just looks Sick As Teeeees. Id say pick one genesis up and see how you like it. Worst case is you can just sell it on the classies. Also i think drippers are over rated when it comes to flavor. Genesis is still king IMO. It makes sense, a genny is basically a dripper that uses mesh with a massive drip well or reservoir.

Good luck in your quest for the ultimate vape!

It really depends on the type of juice you vape.

Tobaccos, custard/creamy, rich, deep and flavorful juices all really shine on a well built genny.

Fruits, desserts, teas, etc vape okay on mesh but really are better suited for cotton, rayon, or silica. The nice thing with gennies is you can run any style of wick you please.

I cant comment on the Heron but my new Kayfun v4 is one of the top flavor atties out there ive tried. Same with a KFL+....it just has alot less airflow. With the new K4 the prce on authentic KFL+ has dropped to nearly $50...so to me thats a steal any way you look at it for an authentic high end tank atty.

Cheers!

for my fruity vapes i run a kraken with cotton wick, always put plenty of wick down into the tank, you lose a little space but if you happen to get a dry hit on the cotton you can just pull up a little bit, cut the burnt out and continue vaping.
for my deep flavors like custards or tobaccos i really love the rope wick, just cant run heavy vg for chain vaping or you get dry hits(very bad on stainless)
a good hybrid cotton mesh wick works really well for heavy vg juices, but it is a huge pain to set up without burning the cotton(you can use silica the same way, but i dont like the silica taste)

Also, could be misunderstanding, but it seems my Heron operates on the same principle as a Gennie, but with the juice on top.

On the Heron your coil build is housed by a screw on cap with a hole in the top you feed your wick through, so the tip of that wick is the only thing exposed to the juice when you slap your tank on top.

My first genny was an authetic kraken and i didnt like it too much. It looks cool and vapes decent but the chamber is huge compared to alot of gennies. I found anything over .5 ohms was too cool and not flavorful enough. Im big on reduced atomizing chambers bow and the Origeny has the BEST flavor of Any setup IMO. This is compared to a Rocket, Steam Turbine, Dome, and a couple others. Kraken to me is more of a cloud atty than a flavor chucker, but to each their own. The AFC on it was great but very very airy unless you have it barely a slit open. Functions best above 30 watts IMO.

Solid flavor chuckers: Origenny V2, RSM Rocket, Athea Mods In'ax Mk2r, Satburn 22, Nahualon, Pandora Shadow, etc etc. Mainly these are European modders and the Euro market tends to favor Flavor vs Clouds over all. I much prefer euro atties to Pinoy or even American Made stuff. Almost everything i own is european made. And the quality is always nothing short of amazing

Imo origen is better solely for function:

4 separate wick holes, dual or single coil, 4ml capacity, very short in length, very effective heat fins for dissipation, cotton/mesh, fill hole plug so no or very little leaking, amazing out this world flavor, reduced chamber, prett easy to build on, no tilting needed whatsoever even when chain vaping, best wicking genny ive tried, slightly complicated design

Kraken:
Dual or single coil, huge airflow, only 2 wick holes, no reduced chamber, mediocre flavor(subjective), prone to pissing out elquid, runs hot due to no heat sink, Looks absolutely fantastic, reliable cheap clones available, GLASS tank...2.5-3ml capacity. Tended to run dry hits due to more restrictive wick holes, needed to tilt rather frequently.

Remember its all subjective and this is solely based on my experiences with both

I've got quite a few Genesis atomizers, Kraken, Sat 22, Nahualon, Aga T, T2, AGT, Doc Dave MM, Dome, RSST, Pulse-M, BF-99 sorta genny, Origen Genesis V2. Hands down for me it is the Origen Genesis V2, Airflow options, reduced chamber big ..... wick holes. Couple things I'm not thrilled with, aluminum lower section, no glass tank available, if the bottom were SS, and tank was glass it would be about perfect, those two points really aren't a deal breaker though.

I like the Origen well enough I have a second on the way.
