I posted it above when you were doing all of the quotes, but I love this color in them. I hope when I decided to get a third in the future this color will be it
LP/SL reo grand metallic blue

I'd say at least a spare spring, there is that new thread where someone collapsed one. Hope it never happens, but sometimes it does.

I've used MXJOs in mine and worked fine. I know when I emailed Rob and even super x drifter recommended the AW Button tops and I like them a lot. Only time I use a flat top are when my AWs are charging.

I have to agree! It looks beautiful in the metallic blue!

I think my top choice so far is the Silver Vein. I think behind that, the black wrinkle (either with matching door or the metallic blue door) is pretty appealing!

Ya. I think I'll get a spare spring just to have in my repair kit.

Also, I guess I should go with the button top batteries. Would rather not have issues due to batteries.

I do use the LG HE2 batteries as well as others, flat tops can arc more than others but it's really noticeable as your drop into sub ohms. with the use Deoxit or Noalox on the contacts you can mitigate this. the new Reo will ship with a small amount of Noalox.

For sure add a spring or two. If you get a short they collapse to protect your battery. Once collapsed they need to be replaced.

The rebuild kit is for the older Reos to rebuild the 510, you'll get a new style SS 510 so no kit is needed.

a few of both the 1x10 and 1.5x10 O-rings can come in handy, might as well get them while your paying for shipping anyway.

I shot footage today where I did things to a REO grand no one in their right mind will ever do. I don't want to give away the whole video, but I can tell you that this was the softest thing it contacted with the least amount of force applied to it. (That was a miss on what I was shooting at) That'll leave a mark :) Did it still work after?

LMAO, you're about to destroy the glamour in Scydivalice throwing his REO on the ground, aren't you? :)

I cannot wait to see this :)

It was made with the intent of being entertaining while doing unthinkable things to a REO grand. Yes, that throwing on the ground you did was awesome my man but child's play compared to what went down in Georgia this morning :). It should be up tonight. Computer is finishing up now :)

Got the computer back. To say the 512 GB Samsung EVO 850 pro increased the speed would be the equivalent to saying that a top fuel dragster is fairly quick in the 1/4 mile.

It's insane. From power up to fully up and running is about 10 seconds. Launching apps like Autocad that typically take about 40 seconds to load the first time (it's quicker once it's cached) now take about 7 seconds. My video editing software ignites instantaneously.

I had a fairly quick i7 64 bit with 8.1 / 16gb ram / 1gb video card / 1tb hard drive workstation before.

Now I have a top fuel dragster :)

Video production / editing should be much quicker :).

Now the 1tb drive is just to park files like music, cad files and pix. The SSD will be for all programs and work :)

I HIGHLY recommend this $300 investment to anyone who uses a PC regularly. The drive is +/- 200 on Amazon. The labor to install / clone should be anywhere from $100 - $150. No I'm not skilled (patient) enough to do this myself. If I screwed anything up I'd be sucking ballz Monday instead of makin donuts :)

So vid will be up tonight :)

They are amazing! I have one in a mediocre laptop running Ubuntu Linux and I'm booting I'm under 5 seconds. It's really amazing. And battery life probably increased by 20% too which is an added bonus.

Can't wait to see your video!

Well Elyptic if that vid doesn't answer your question about durability I don't know what will. LMAO Russ :)

Next step is to run it over with a truck Russ. You know it can take it. We've all seen pics and heard stories of REOs being vaped after lying in the street for several hours ;)

Okay. So I think I've got it narrowed down to the following:

- Reo Grand LP (color to be decided)
- RM2 Atty (can always upgrade later)
- 2 extra 6ml bottles
- Some form of button cover (depending on which finish I choose)

What else could I need? Rebuild kit? Spare springs? O-Rings?

Also, I have a good deal of LG HE2 / HE4 batteries. These will support the current draw of the REO, but will they work correctly? They are flat top.

Thanks again for all the great advice.

As already suggested, get a couple of springs. Can't hurt. AND make sure you order the LP RM2 if you get an LP Grand. The regular RM2 is whittled down to fit into a deeper (non LP) catch cup. Little confusing....

Thanks! The LP vs regular was pretty confusing until I found a comparison photo of both.

I started with the same selection just shy of 2 months ago now. I will admit that it took me a little time to get the RM2 dialed into what I liked, (much help from this community on that) but once tuned it is so painless to maintain, re-wick, coil, etc.. I prefer a cooler vape so coil at around 2 ohms. Japanese cotton wick. It works, all the time, every time. When skiing I keep it inside my layers to keep it warm. Same when in all my storm gear sailing. Dropped it once on concrete and when I picked it up it laughed at me and said, "Is that all ya got?" :headbang:

My only suggestion would be to just go ahead and buy two right off the bat. That'll save you having to wait for your second one.

And because it is so easy to use/maintain and so rugged, I ordered a second one today. Same setup with RM2. All my other garbage mods are deep six now. Hope I never have to look at them again. RIP pos vaping gear

Happy to see you have found your way home Elyptic.... Welcome... :toast:

Well, I just clicked buy! Couldn't figure out how to use Paypal, but was easily able to enter my credit card information.

Anyway, on it's way is a Black Wrinkle LP Reo Grand, a LP RM2, spare o-rings in both 1.5x10 and 1.0x10, two extra bottles, and an extra spring. Oh ya, and a silver button cover.

Now the waiting begins!

Excellent choice. Rob ships on Monday so you should have it probably Wednesday, maybe Thursday even here in Cali. Make sure someone is home since you need to sign for it.

Enjoy!
