Well here is something I read that you people should know if your using a laptop and leave it on 24/7 for folding.

Specifically batteries and temperature/fans. Always fold on AC and never on batteries. Make sure that the pause folding upon battery option turned on to protect your batteries from being drained accidentally. Make sure that the heat the laptop produces has somewhere to go and monitor its temperature. As long as it stays reasonable there isn't a problem

I'm just leaving that other PC on 24/7.

Okay now look at this picture I took off my other PC. It says progress 0.00% so is my PC sitting there running for nothing?

Good for you Mod! Yep I use the FaH control panel to check mine too, but I do peek at the viewer once in a while.

When I had my laptop folding, I had it on a rack and removed the battery pack. It's only got 1 processor so it stayed cool just fine. I took it off the grid tho because it's not worth the electricity to run it 24/7 for the small amount of points it was adding.

so, what the heck is folding? An app that steals my resources for charity?
No it's letting cancer research use part of your processor to help find a cure for cancer. As you know your processor has a lot of unused processes that can be used and you don't even know they are there. It doesn't affect anything your doing. They just use a pinch of it but all those little pinches add up when they run them on a few million pc's.

Unused? It is taking 100% of all 5 cores, and my hard drive sounds like it is going to rattle itself apart! my CPU doesn't even go that high when I am converting BluRay video!
it is even using 100% of my video card's GPU!

Reinstalled it on my SSD before it blows up my disk.

Estimates me at 14000 points/day though.

Better check the settings on the preferences. It doesn't take a fraction of that from mine. I wouldn't even know it was on there if I didn't look. You can set the limits and processor heat on the preferences.

Bov knew what she was doing when she poked you, 5C.
