this guy got me fired up today at work!

I work in retail and this younger guy came in today chain vaping his cig-a-like. We were slammed today and he was puffing around customers. I was so ticked off! Thats why people give us a bad name. I wanted to say something to him but didnt want to risk getting in trouble at work. Just had to vent!

lol he wasnt blowing clounds but he had that thing in his mouth the entire time he was in my department. his hands never touched it. Some reason it bothered me more than i think it should have so i was afraid if he got a attitude i might of got on his level. He was pushing 20 i remember how i was when i was his age i did everything to rebel, and if someone tried to say something i was a DBag about it. ive seen him before and Im sure he will be back and ill remember his face. Ill talk to him next time i see him and if he does have a attitude ill have him come check out my set up and talk about setups as well as respect to others.

10% of arguments are caused by disagreements, while the other 90% of arguments are caused by the tone of someone's voice.. It is ALL about approach.

The guy probably isn't trying to rebel....he probably just doesn't think vaping does, or should bother anyone. You see that very attitude on this board all the time.....people upset because someone asked them not to vape in their store or whatever.

Many people feel entitled to be able to vape anywhere, I guess because they figure it is vapor, not smoke (you and I both know otherwise, but some people don't).


I would politely spark up a discussion with him, and very nicely ask him if he wouldn't mind waiting until he went outside to vape, since the vapor might irritate and/or bother some other customers. Then you can let him know you vape as well, and have a bit of convo with him. More than likely, if you are polite about it, he will be cool.

Very good points plus im allergic to PG so i can explain that to him proof 2nd hand can effect others!

Seriously though, I completely understand your frustration and would have felt the same way. I may have asked to speak with him, take him aside, and point out that....oh forget it. He never would have listened anyway.

You should have politely advised him he was bothering other customers and asked him to stop.

If he copped an attitude tell him you have better stock in the back room and it would be a great idea if he had a look

then when you come out of the stockroom alone he wouldnt have an attitude any more lol
