I used to spend over 200 a month on cigs with nothing to show for it but a bucket of nasty smelling butts. Nowadays I spend probably 80.00 a month to stock up and some months I don't spend anything.. I do have a provari and several other mods -a freezer full of nic and enough flavors for the next year. I don't try the newest thing out until I see enough good reviews to make me want to give it a chance.

If this becomes a hobby instead of just a life style change (smoking vs vaping), yes this can negate any savings from stop smoking. But once you find an ideal setup, you CAN begin to see some savings.

I've been vaping smoke-free for 14 months. I have finally found my ideal setup that works best for me. Two Provari's as my main go-to APVs, and five other mods as backups, including one bottom feeder mod. Two AGA-T2 RBAs for home, and a dozen pyrex IBTanked cartotanks for out & about.

I'm starting to get into DIY e-juices so I expect to see huge savings there over custom-made comercial juices. Just supplying disposables (cartomizers, nic liquid and flavorings, and the occasional drip atty and batteries) should bring my vaping costs down significantly since my gear setup is complete.

With all due sincere respect, I'd consider the health improvements priceless!

HaHa - I always laugh reading threads like this. I'm lucky in that I'm perfectly satisfied with my ego batteries and clearos. But of course I want the pretty, decorated egos. In different colors. And sizes. And the clearos have to match. With charms. (Just spent $24 at HobbyLobby finding pretty charms to match my two new 'music' -themed egos.

So, yeah, I've spent more than I have to.

And DIY juices?? Yes, you'll save money in the long run. Lots of money. But getting started is a money pit. Especially if you like to experiment with different flavors like many of us do.

But what the heck. I'm not smoking cigarettes.

Slap a mesh wick in that Vivi Nova and get a genisis style vape for next to nothing. I almost threw my VVN in the trash but glad I kept it to experiment with.

That sounds like an interesting idea, just found this video on how to do it,

Vivi Nova SS Wick tutorial - YouTube

I think I'll have a go at that. :thumb:

Vaping has been much cheaper for me than the ciggies were, as mentioned earlier in the thread, cigarettes here in the UK are very expensive, so even buying a shiny mod is still cheaper than buying the old ciggies.

Just wait until modumust fever* begins. You should probably stay away from the modders section. If you're an electronics tech, we could probably use your input, but it isn't a cheap hobby.

*Type "modumust fever" in the search bar. Read "Dear Gummy" thread. You'll see.

Started with the vapor king, few wweks later bought a ego twiste, now im fighting the urge to buy a Itaste MVP. really want to sell the vapor king and ego twiste to fund it, that that anything is wrong with them though, both work amazing :).

I haven't thought about buying anything else after getting the MVP, you won't regret it.

I know, I want it so bad, just want to see if I can sell my ego styles first :) Will have to ask my brother if he knows anyone that wants to buy them. Think he knows a kid thats looking for one. Love that i could use this to charge my phone if I needed to. Will be a nice device for hunting and fishing. vape on it and if my phone battery goes low charge it up.

is it weird to carry?

Yep the real savings come in later.
Once you get the notion to make your own juice and roll your own wicks, the cost is next to nothing.

I just re-coiled my atomizer yesterday. The old coil lasted around a month.
I am still using the same SS mesh wick (probably 3 months or so).
Not sure how long the wick will last. I just run a couple mils of Everclear in my tank to clean it out every so often.
Then I dump it out and refill.

Since I DIY my juice as well, the only thing I need kinda soon is some more wire for coils.
I've got about a foot left and can buy 100' for $6.95.

I have an MVP, and it's not weird to carry at all; plus, it lasts forever, so you wouldn't have to carry a back up "just in case." I ordered mine from FastTech, and it's a genuine iTaste MVP. I've had NO PROBLEMS with it, and it was cheap, free shipping. Took about a week-and-a-half from order to delivery.

does it have the ego threading? debating on buying from them, I have a order through them now and even with the extra shipping cost it took 7days before they dropped it off at the post office. probably be another week and a half before I recieve. thanks

From Hong Kong to Alabama, it takes seven days for me. I've had a few orders take a while for processing from order to dropping it off, but sometimes they sell out of things and have to wait for another shipment. It does have ego threading and comes with the beauty ring.
