If you want throat hit raise the PG RATIO.
I'm using 50/50 at the present. 0 nic even with 100% pg won't give sufficient throat hit to satisfy me. With some flavours .5 mg is sufficient, with others I go as high as 3 mg. I'll always have at least .5 mg, for the potential health benefits.

Who vapes a 30 gauge 1.5 mm diameter coil at 5 wraps? Not a reasonable example to me. Most are using 26 gauge or smaller with larger diameter and high power for a .5 ohm coil.
Not saying that's reasonable, but it highlights the fact that resistance isn't the main variable. Simply saying "subohm" isn't sufficient.

1.5 mm is a little under 1/16 of an inch.

A coil that small in diameter is fine for Sillica. A cotton or Rayon would burn through pretty quickly.

Gawd I luv my 30ga coils wrapped around silica string ;) (5/6 wraps even ... around 3 strands of 0.8mm)
Measures out at 1.8ohms, and I go through ~4ml of 12mg liquid/day using mech mods.

The OP's setup was designed to use mass quantities of liquid .... it's a conspiracy I tell ya ... a conspiracy to get you to by more juice.

To be fair I suppose we could rewind back to vaping's dark ages where only Kanthal A1 and mechanical mods were available.

THEN some of these ingrained Kanthal A1 platitudes might make sense.
    • larger diameter wire equates to lower resistance per foot than smaller diameter wire (this seems to be universal across all wire types)
    • if the number of windings are equal, larger diameter wire has more mass and requires more power than smaller diameter wire
    • if the number of windings are equal, larger diameter wire has more surface area and equally more contact area with the wick
Over time the above got over generalized into the following:
    • lower resistance vaping equates more juice consumption
    • subohm vaping requires more power
    • more power equates to more juice consumption
However at nearly 2017 and with all the different wire types available and possible builds one can explore the above is no longer hard and fast "rules".

I'm the same, and I've raised PG ratios to the point where my liquid was so serous, it'd seep right through coils and flood them. I do believe it's the oxidation process of nicotine in e-liquid that causes that lovely throat hit that, while PG may deliver something similar, it just isn't the same.

There's actually an additive (forgot it's name) from one of the flavor makers that will absolutely destroy your throat... I'm sure someone here knows what it's called.

But vaping worked quite well in the "dark ages" Lots of us quit smokin' back then. ;)

I don't remember thinking "this is working well" while putting fish filters inside joyetech atties. Personally I continued my dual use untill my first rba.

Flash-hit by flavourart probably. I'll happily stick to a little nicotine lol

Yeah that sounds about right, I had some put in my squanker as a joke and it's no picnic.

No-no, the blue foam went in the cartridge ... not the atty ;)

Should have dripped with that 510 atty instead of using cartridges.
Cartridges were good for bating mouse traps ... but not much of anything else.
