...but I'd like to add a smoky flavor to a liquid I'm cobbling together. I had smoked apples at a friend's house a while back, and it was an oddly interesting flavor that I'd like to at least attempt to reproduce in a vapor. Can Liquid Smoke be added as a flavor? From what I understand the ingredients are just water and natural smoke flavoring.

Any ideas on the health implications of vaping Liquid Smoke?

Real liquid smoke is made from the tars from wood smoke. Probably not the best thing to inhale since it probably contains nitrosamines, which can cause cancer.

Perfumer's Apprentice has a flavoring (referred to as a 'molecule', or single-molecule flavoring) called guiacol (I probably misspelled that) which has a smokey flavor. This would be your best bet, I think.

Hence my comment about it seeming counterproductive. Thanks for the tip on Guaiacol, I'll give it a shot!
