I've been vaping on and off since 2012. I thought that it would be nice to kick the smoking habit and be healthy. However, I couldn't stop smoking until I got into the box mods. I've been cigarette free for going on two months!!! The very nice gentleman that runs a local vape shop told me that I would need a new vape and I bought one. Then the bug hit me and I went back and bought two more. Now, I'm looking at building coils just so that I can save some money. Heck, I'm even mixing up some juice so that I can go longer periods without stopping in and buying some. Long story short, I'm a little over $800.00 in two months! Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't take that money back to change anything. In fact, I'm looking at it as an investment to me living a bit longer. I just want to know, what have some of you spent on vaping?

BAHHHHHHHHHHH!

Heck I don't know, probably over the past 3 years, probably in the range of 3200 to 3500USD in hardware alone. Disposables (coil heads, wire, liquids) about another 1800USD. If I had stayed smoking, total cost would be approx 7500USD, 5300USD of that on vaping, I've saved more than I would of potentially spent which would be 2200USD saved in 3 years. As WindyCityJoe posted, shinytitis is an ugly monkey, but the bright side, at least what I've spent I've still got something to show for it =)

I lost track what I have spent. Just this month I have spent almost $300.00 on 2 tanks. I normally don't keep track as if I did I think the hubby would really choke me. I make my own coils and make my own juice so I kinda save until I want this flavor or I have to try this and by time you are done adding all those flavors in your cart you are up to another $100.00 not including the nic and pg and vg but I love making my own juice and when it turns out good I give myself a pat on the back and then I think holy cow I don't have to spend so much money on others juice..:) Congrats on not smoking.

I'm thinking about getting a DNA 200 just because you can update it. But then again I'm trying to get more info on lipo batteries and a bit scared to use something with them in it. That will be a few more hundred. But been debating on just getting a DNA 40 and see how I like it compared to my SX mini M. Him what shall I do? I know what the hubby would say, do you really need another device? lol

I spent a lot my first year in. I've stocked on supplies - coil, cotton, PG, VG, nic. I'm only getting little things here an there these days. Spent $20 on a couple of RDAs, $60 on some backup iStick 30s, $25 on a bottom feed mod. That's been the last two months.

But, I think I've passed my "break even" point of what I would have spent on cigarettes. If not, it's still a better way to spend my money :D

@Veliho - WELCOME!

Somehow lost my post, so I'll regurgitate some of it.....

I spent a lot my first year of vaping. Now I've stocked up on coil, cotton, PG, VG, Nic, and flavors. Spent $35 on a few RDAs, $60 on some backup iStick 30s, and $35 on a bottom feed mod and spare RDA (which I promptly BROKE )

I'm feeling like I'm past my break-even point, but if not, I'd rather be spending my money on longer-lived things like vape stuff.

I use an app to keep track of all my vape expenses. It also tells me how much I would have spent on cigs and my breakeven point. I'm about $350 bucks away from my breakeven point or the date of October 4th which the app also provides. Kind of helps me keep shinyitus under control to some extent . Overall since I have started vaping I have spent $2734 on vaping including DIY equipment, supplies and nicotine storage. Not to bad considering I used to spend $3500 a year on the stinkies. So I'm happy where I'm at in my vaping journey. About to go from the red into the black with plenty of stock to last me long time too +++1!

I have been spending about $60/mo for my vaping. I have been buying lots of flavorings for the past 2 months though and spending not much of anything on other vaping stuff.
Have to stock up on the V1 flavorings before they get hard to get.
I only spent about $130/mo on smokes. I live in KY and bought cheap smokes. I am actually consuming less than $20/month now in vaping stuff.
I have enough batteries, tanks, cotton and wire to last me a couple of years.

I recently got back into vaping, and loving it. I was probably around $150 a month with smoking. Not sure where I'm at with vaping supplies, as I'm still in the juice testing phase, lol. Somewhere around $200 in 3 weeks would be a good guess. I know I want to get a spare battery and tank or two. Haven't even considered building my own coils.....yet.
I'm not concerned whether I spend more or less on vaping, I'm just glad to not be smoking. Once I find a few all day flavors, I'll stock up on those bigger bottles, and save my money that way.

Thanks for all of the congrats. They mean more to me than you guys know. I know that I spent a lot more money on my three mods than I could of shopping on the internet. But, I told my vape shop guy that he earned my business by taking the time to explain a lot about switching to box mods. I want to support him and his business because I think he deserves it. I recently went into the shop to ask about a usb cord that I was missing and decided to pick up some more accessories. There were about three people in there and one of them made a kind of smart remark about the accessory I was purchasing. I was immediately turned off and wanted to just leave and not be bothered by them. The store owner took the time to ask me again if I was into rebuilding and seemed genuine in his curiosity. I appreciated him taking the time to listen to me and that's why I spend my money locally. I know that not everyone is as receptive to new people like this forum is, but I couldn't help but to think that vape shops are full of people that seem to have achieved an "elite status". There was another vape shop that was full of hipsters sitting behind the counter across the store while a younger seemingly inexperience guy was trying to help me. They just kept correcting him while vaping and talking amongst themselves. You think they would treat everyone that came through their doors a little better. Being in a industry that "promotes" smoking as a chance to get away, I'm willing to take the time to share my little knowledge with anyone that asks and have given an older mod and my first box mod to people free of charge. Anything to get them to stop smoking. I digress. Even though I'm turned off by the in-store experience from other vapers, I will continue to support my local vape shop.

Ha! Now I don't feel so bad for owning three vape systems even though I've only been at it for a month! I think I've spent a total of about...I don't know, $250? I feel pretty good about today's purchase: an ESP 30 box mod with a Nautilus Mini atomizer. I feel like I'm starting to get a good quality vape from this gear.

I also like supporting my local vape shop. I haven't had any bad service in mine. Of course, supporting local business is a lot easier to do when Amazon doesn't really sell any of this stuff. I buy almost everything on Amazon. Everything but food and clothes. And vape gear, I guess.
