Here's what i can say about this. There's only one vendor on ECF that I've ever had any real problem with. All the others have been top notch. I don't necessarily look to even see if they are a "registered" vendor or an approved vendor. I normally will search for reviews of a product and then if it's a vendor I've not done business with before, I'll go and have a look at reviews of suppliers.

For you suppliers out there, know this. If we can buy from someone we've already bought from and had good service, most of us will. Please do your best to keep things in stock. I know it's not always easy to judge what is going to sell but once you've got a customer going to another vendor for something you do carry but don't have in stock, well, you risk losing all sorts of business.

I like the vendors that are ECF registered (Classy's correction is noted) because the sheer visibility they have on here helps to guarantee a certain level of service. When a vendor registers here they know they are playing in a sandbox full of customers who have a ready forum to give feedback, positive or negative. I like the idea that they are willing for their performance to be so transparent. That said, I would do business with a non-registered vendor if the vendor had something I really wanted that wasn't available from a registered vendor. I would always prefer a vendor that's been on here and been thoroughly "vetted" by actual transactions with forum members, though.

Well thought out and simultaneously well put.
