This website seems too good to be true, what's the catch?

fasttech.com, I've seen a few posts about people ordering their gear from there, so I decided to take a look and I've found the prices to be cheap as hell, £8.12 with free shipping for an eGO-TS kit? I'm new to vaping so I don't know if there's a difference between the eGO-T and the TS but I've not found a normal eGO-T for less than £15 on its own. So what's the catch here?

Some of the things they sell are clones, others are the products straight from the manufacturer. Fasttech either sells clones or sells the item for under what the normal retailer would because they can. :p The catch is that you're buying from a company that literally makes its money by ripping off other companies. But, money is money its your choice to make. Shipping from FT also takes forever... Depending on where you live you might be used to shipping times of a couple days, with FT it takes a couple weeks.
They have stuff cheap because they are either cloning or buying the product straight from the manufacturer and selling it for under what it should be going for. Which does anger a lot of companies, but again, its up to you. Is the saved money worth it?

All the above posts are accurate to me. So, what have we learned ? They are dirt cheap, but every once an a while you get a "dud". So instead of just ordering the one ego kit that you want with the two batteries and charger, go ahead and add a couple more ego batteries to be sure you are wel covered. Maybe an extra charger for the car sice they are so incredibly cheap.

Read the big fasttech form for opinions on other items such as Mods and Mechanicals and Tanks/coils and the like. Things I personally know that are the same as you buying down the street are all Innoken products, Kamry, Vamo, Panasonic, Kanger Pro Tanks.

Dont be in a hurry, if you are, order from the UK or drive to get it.

Have fun shopping.

Have ordered 5 times and very happy. Shipping times were 8- 11 biz days. As with ANY Vendor you have to know what you're buying. As for pricing I'm VERY HAPPY that FastTech has found a way around the price fixing demands of the manufacturer. Many here would be shocked if they knew the wholesale price of vape gear.
FT eGos I've heard good and bad about them.

Same here. What did you order? Some of the things on FT take a few days before they even ship so if you had on of those in your order that would slow things down.

On the item page, it tells you how long it takes to ship. There is a link there with a key to what each means. If it says it ships in 3 days, it ships in 3 days. If it says "In Stock" it ships same day.

Just what TXR was saying, check out the Fast Tech thread. I ordered a couple of K100's from them, plastic battery cases. They are hit or miss. The shipping time for the order I placed was about a week and a half. My order took some time, like 5 days to process, but shipped quick after I left a message with customer service lighting a fire under their butts. I saw someone on the thread call them Slug Tech, that's what I so lovingly call them too. Their stuff is hit or miss, but that is Made in China for ya. How many DOA's did we get ordering the Chinese rebranded stuff from America?

BTW, I am very happy with my K100's, my UCan, and my plastic battery boxes :D

I use fasttech. Never received a complete order in less than 3 weeks. That said, it's a great online store and I've bought all kinds of crazy stuff on there. :)

The £8.12 kit will be workable. It will require a euro-uk adapter for the mains plug, but you could just charge it off usb.

I can't see why it might be a better or worse choice than the one I linked you to yesterday.

If you buy UK, you can have it in a couple of days. One battery is never enough, so perhaps buy both.

In short, fasttech is good. I DO NOT buy plain eGo batteries or clearomizers from them. I do however buy mod batteries and silly things like chargers and adapters.

Ignore those whining that they have waited two weeks for their over 10,000 miles of FREE shipping, you can get it cheap and slower or more expensive and faster.

I have ordered about a dozen times from FT and 1 took 24 days as it got lost at HK sorting office for a couple of weeks. The rest arrived in the UK between 10 and 14 days.

If FT state the manufacturers name it is genuine if not it is a generic clone. I have been happy with my generic Evods and ego twist battery. The Liqua is a steal at £3.5 for 30ml.

Place your orders and accept it will not arrive in a couple of days. As you are from the UK you probably don't care that you are not supporting family run American stores as this seems to be the biggest complaint about FT.

This is just my opinion, but if this is your first starter kit ever, I would go with a known genuine dealer. They last thing you need is a probelmatic device to figure out. I would hate to see some dud device turn you off of vaping. You can save money later on as you learn more about what you like or do not like.

I have had good a experience ordering from Fasttech yet, Their products are hit or miss for me. You get what you pay for with them I guess. I use them for small items. Good luck and welcome.

You are spoilt in the US we pay half as much again for vaping gear in the UK. A knock off ego in the UK costs double what FT charge never mind a Joyetech battery. A Twist or Spinner would cost us $36 + shipping, so about $42. A those prices even if FT didn't provide a better warranty than most other places you would be better off buying a few cheap items and accepting the odd dud.

This whole Fasttech thing has been discussed ad nauseum. Suggest reading this 3,000+ post thread:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...30819-fasttech-thread-all-fasttech-posts.html

All I can say is that I have nine orders, received seven so far, loved everything I've bought, and have twice as much gear because of it. Whether genuine or clone, the products I received have worked flawlessly, have been as described, and have been 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of other alternatives. Why people care where others buy their gear is beyond me. To each their own. But, mention Fasttech and the crazies on both sides come out. I strongly suggest reading about specific Fasttech products you are interested in the threads to see if they worked out ok. Most do, some don't. I can tell you that the Innokin, Kamry, Kanger, Nitecore, and Vamo products have met or exceeded my expectations. Some of the clones, including the mech mods, have been as good, and sometimes better than the originals. Some of the products, like the evods, have been great, but I needed to replace the coils. Many of the tanks are just generic to start with and have worked just fine. My orders have taken from 8 to 15 days from ordering to delivery, with an average of 11 days. They don't have many more things that I want from the site, but they are adding new things all the time. Some of the clones are 1/10 or better, the cost of the originals. Excellent way to find out what you like, without selling a kidney, to check out. In many ways, this is a very pragmatic approach to vaping. I was checking out a $60 nimbus at the vape shop yesterday, and I may get it. I can check out a clone on Fasttech for $5.50. I can always buy the real thing later if I like it, and I may do that. There are RBA's (clones), that sell for the price of a drip tip in the States. For the noob, it's hard to ignore these opportunities. I have purchased 11 APV's and mods from the site. I also purchase from US Vendors. Me likee! Really happy with my experience at Fasttech.

I will give my two cents about some of the arguments against Fasttech. My top ten list (I'm sure there are many more):

1. Buy American, China sucks: 90% of all vape gear is made in China, it's a question of price, and paying the middle man and distribution cost (multiply by four for the same product made in the US).

2. By selling below the MSRP, the genuine products are said to be "fake", when in fact they are the genuine article, but not selling at the suggested price fixing offer from the manufacturer.

3. Buy American: I do, much of my gear is not sold on Fasttech, including Sigelei, Provari, etc.

4. Shipping takes too long: Coming from Hong Kong does take a while. A legitimate tradeoff, with free shipping. Also, many items don't ship immediately, but those delays are clearly posted. This is a standard inventory control procedure and Fasttech let's you know in advance.

5. Warranty: Fasttech may have the best warranty of any company in the World. Certainly competitive. Many stories in the threads.

6. Customer Service: Fasttech may have at least as good as any company in the world. Certainly competitive. Many stories in the threads.

7. We should support our local and national vendors: I do, most of my gear is not sold by Fasttech. Their most expensive item is $75. All high end gear has to be purchased elsewhere. I buy or make all my own juice, though I've heard good things about Liqua and Hangsen. Dekang, a mixed reaction.

8. Their stuff is all knockoffs: Much of it is. In many cases, the knockoffs works equal to or better than the original. Caveat Emptor. Do your homework. Buying a brand name is a buying choice, not a requirement.

9. You're un-American: You're out of your mind. Open your eyes. You don't know me. Know thyself first.

10. Fasttech doesn't play by the rules: Sometimes the rules are unfair. I'm not only responsible for putting food on my family's table, but I'm not an idiot, and cannot afford to ignore bargains. I do buy products from Walmart (90% of which are made outside the US). Why do you even care?

Sorry for the rant OP, I'm just sick of hearing about the Fasttech bashers, and am posting my frustration here. Hopefully, some of it is useful to you. I'm sure that there are many Fasttech horror stories. You can get those from any company and I have my share of stories from US Vendors, and, surprisingly, none from Fasttech so far.

Legitimate Questions:

1. Why buy retail, when you can buy wholesale, with no minimum and no shipping cost?

2. Why pay the middleman a premium, plus shipping?

3. Why is my buying a product from Fasttech of concern to others?

4. If Fasttech delivers (eventually) what they advertise at discounted pricing, why is this not a viable consideration and option?

5. Why am I ranting so much? Probably because this is my last Fasttech post (maybe), and I wanted to cleanse and purge, and I haven't had a bad experience. So far, so good.

Anyway, my two cents in a wall of words. Do your homework, you'll be fine. There is no right or wrong decision, just a personal one. Good luck, Power up and Vape On!
