Bummer. Sorry about the timing. I was afraid of this.
I'm thinkin' about 4:30. Shooting for dinner around 6:00. I just got back from the fancy-pants gourmet meat store in Jackson with 10 lbs. of nice looking beef brisket and 5 lbs. of salmon to smoke. My brother in law is doing pulled pork in his smoker and my son in law is bringing 30 gallons of craft beer.
Anything else will have to come from all y'alls.
Hope lots of you come. It's supposed to be hot and sunny but there's a lot of shade here.

Yeah for 90 degrees and sunny Sunday. Can't wait to eat some of that meat and wash it down with your sons beer!
How are the roads in your area? Were thinking we might ride out on the motorcycle but if I recall correctly theres several miles of dirt road. Is it like a wash board or smooth?
Do you have an approximate head count so I know how much potato salad to bring? Looking forward to seeing everyone.

If you come out US 12 it will only be the last 2 miles that are dirt. The washboarding is not that bad right now. the township grades and re gravels the roads on a fairly regular basis but the farm equipment screws them up pretty fast. You can crawl the last two miles if you feel you need to. Lots of bikes out here in the summer.
I have NO friggin' idea about a head count this year. I'd suggest just making a 9X11 pan or a big bowl. I think most people are bringing something so we'll be alright.
I have 10 lbs. of brisket and 5 lbs. of salmon plus my brother in law is doing a .... roast for pulled pork.
I'm so bummed
Oh well I know you had to do it this weekend. I hope we can have another vapemeet!
We will Keekers. Sounds like Lansing may become a regular thing and if all else fails I'll set something up after I'm through with this wedding thing.
My son's getting married this summer. That's why I couldn't do the BBQ in the end of June like I did last year.
I sure hope so. Had a good time with the crew last time and it is so close for me.
Well I was sure I was going to be able to make it but it turns out I can't, dammit. Work stuff and funeral stuff (close friend's father's funeral) is going to keep me from getting down there. The food sounds awesome and mist I hope plenty of people show up to eat, drink and vape!
I hope the Lansing meets become a regular thing as well because I'm totally up for that when life doesn't get in the way.

Hey everyone I for some reason was thinking it was next weekend but JUST secured a ride with my Mother lol which you will all meet.. what time is everyone else going?? thanks! so excited
Were arriving around 4:30, depending upon how many times we get lost???? We are excited too and know we will laugh alot with you and your Mom.
The last time we ate was Friday so were in preparation mode to eat everything we see. Were hungry and very thirsty too!

I know what two of the beers will be. We'll have a scotch ale (my request) and a summer wheat ale flavored with nectarines or peaches or some such shiznit. I guess the third one will be a surprise. I think my wife's planning on mixing up some beergaritas too. There will be wine and some limited soft drinks as well.
