I am posting this in hopes that it might help some of you with your first purchases, because I now wish I had bought the ego kit instead of the 510 kit when I first started out.

I started with a 510 about 2 months ago. Bought some flavors, too many flavors if you ask my wife.

Two months in, it just wasn't doing it for me. I tried upping the PG ratio to 80/20, 100%. Still wasn't getting a satisfying experience, and I felt like the batteries weren't holding a full charge anymore either.

Saturday morning I ordered a 900mah ego battery and charger adapter from cignot. Monday, today, it showed up. With a personalized note on my invoice from Vicki: "I bet you're going to like it!"

Now, this is where I should point out that it was my birthday last week, and I also have ordered a GLV-2 in 5 volts.

I figured the ego battery would get me by until the glv comes in.

Well, the ego battery showed up today like I was saying and so on my next break, I wasted no time beating feet out to the smoking area and took a couple test toots.

There's a world of difference. Same atomizer I had been dripping into just before, same juice. MUCH more vapor, much more throat hit.

Did I mention I still have that glv-2 on the way? I am now afraid it's going to blow my head off, but I bet I'll finally be able to use that 100% VG juice I got that seems to have no throat hit.

I'm sitting here in my recliner and my head is spinning. Something I haven't experienced since I started. I suspect (and think I read somewhere) that this is a true 3.7 volt battery, where the 510s are maybe 3 or 3.2 volts. That is the only way I can think that I am getting better hits on the same atomizer.

LOL I am getting a box with juice in it about every couple days for a month now! It is sooooooooooooooooooo hard to find just the right menthol! UGH! I've been on a 510 for over a month now and LOVING it, compared to my first kit, I believe an 808. (SmokeTip) I want an Ego, but can't decide between an Ego or a Riva and so many here love one or the other and I'm having such a hard time deciding! And now you mention a glv-2? What is that, pray tell? Congrats on getting your Ego!

Hi Dawn, If you wind up with lots of juice and parts, check out the PIF (pay it forward) forum. It's a community in here with great people who help each other out. Trades, freebies, samples, just people sharing with other people. It's a great place to hang.

try moving up to the mega atty and mega carts for your eGo. more vaping, less refilling. Awesome Vapor will soon have 1000 mah batteries for the eGos. my 650 mah batt. is lasting me two days on a single charge. they also have SLB mega batteries for your 510 - works very well!

My problem isn't having to drip constantly. I actually use that to my advantage, as I often change flavors every other drip. My problem is that a lot of the flavors I have really don't lend well to dripping something else. I love vaporbomb grape (thanks for the free sample!!) But I only dripped it once last night, and could taste it all day. I need flavors that don't commandeer my atomizer.

And now you mention a glv-2? What is that, pray tell? Congrats on getting your Ego!
It is like a vapor howitzer to the brain if the reviews are to be believed. Higher voltage, user replaceable lithium rechargeables, very durable construction. Search the forums here for glv-2.

I actually ordered my tornado/ego kit a day after my 510 kit and they both showed up on the same day (august, 27). While the 'TorneGo' has advantages, I still like and use the 510s. Usually I'll have 2-3 different PVs going with different flavors and at least one is a 510, dedicated to cinnabomb right now. I like the slimmer, more cigarette-like feel and the blue LED's cool too. So I don't regret buying both kits, esp. since the parts interchange. Now that I've also got a PT, I'll be loaning a few 510 batts. attys, charger and juices to a friend to hopefully convert them to vaping as well. Aside from the health reasons, the more people we've got to fight the FDA, the better.

It is not the voltage but the amps. With the bigger eGo battery you get more amps out of it. Which in turn give you a hotter coil and more vapor.

Actually, no. The eGo uses the same, or very similar circuitry as the 510. Delivers the same power to the atty. A "bigger" battery, in terms of maH will last longer, given the same load. But you can't get around ohms law. In order to deliver more amperage to the same atty, you'd need higher voltage, and the eGo doesn't provide that. Scottbee covered this quite thoroughly in Battery Voltages -- Surprise!, starting with the 510, and moving on to the eGo. Given that the current delivered is pulse-width modulated, I don't know that you can apply RMS to it, but Scottbee says it's equivalent to about 3.1VDC.

Ditto for me. I just upgraded from a regular Joye 510 manual to the Joye eGO and am very happy with it. Have both the 650 and the 900 now. More like smoking analogs and love that it lasts all day without recharging. Now converting everyone I talked into the 510...into the eGO. They're gona kill me for spending more of their money...but hopefully they will appreciate the ultimate payoff. I prefer the cartomizer rather than the separate atomizer-cartridge setup. Just more convenient for me and easier, less messy to refill. For those of you who want to stick with 808 cartomizers, there is an eGO-like version called the Elegant Easy that uses KR808 cartomizers. Have one of those too, but haven't had it long enough to comment on how well it holds up. So far, however, its been just as reliable in performance as the eGO but with the added advantage of a larger choice of prefilled cartomizers flavors. Sometimes I just get too lazy to refill and the prefilled cartos are handy. Either way eGO or Elegant Easy...a vast improvement.

Sounds more like you guys are getting the effects of the ego cone. Its not just decorative, it actually serves a purpose. It restricts air flow forcing you to take slower drags making for more vapor per puff. Also it forces the air to pass on the outside of the atty first making for a warmer puff. Once the cone has been warmed up a bit is when its at its best.

Thank you for this, still trying to figure how all this works (I just got the Ego) and not a true 'electronics' type lol....but just tested it with cone/without cone and see what you mean.....

Dont want to switch the topic on this thread but i would have to disagree. On the fact that you can get different amps at the same voltage. Yes it does have to do with ohms law you cant get around that. But for example a eGo fast charger charges at 4.2 volts and 420mA a 510 battery charger charges at 4.2 volts and delivers 150mA to 200mA. Same voltage different amps and also the reason you will fry a 510 battery on a eGo charger.

I could very well be wrong i am not saying i am right but what the Surprise battery voltages leaves out is a Amp readings on the different batteries. I think it would be interesting to see what the results would be on amp readings on those batteries.

Just got my eGo 900 battery and cone last night. All I can say is AWESOME! I love the throat hit and the flavors just pop. This on a regular atty. (Still waiting on the LR ones) I just forgot to get an adapter to charge it so I'll have to try and make it last till I get one ;) Now can anyone tell me if it's worth it to get the larger atomizer and tips? I've heard 2 very diferent opinions and still wondering if it's worth it.

You can charge it with a regular 510 charger just going to take a lot longer with the exception of blu and volcano charger due to reversed polarity . Just cant charge a 510 with a eGo fast charger it will fry it. Cant really say about the mega carts seems like most have to tweak them a bit to get good performance..
