I see this kit recommended a lot on the Forum:

http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm

You need backups and reliable toppers. This kit has four. Recommend you try maybe a spinner and a twist, and the maybe an evod and a T3. That way, you'll have four different setups and you can start to figure out what works best for you. Backups are critical to a good vaping experience by the way, and backups is considered rule number one in the vaping world. Best. Congrats. Vape On!

I don't think you need variable volt thingies right now IMHO. Use low ohm replacement heads (1.5 ohm, 1.8 ohm, 2.0 ohm) and you will be fine. I have an SVD, MVP, Vamo ( all variable voltage mods) and use the same voltage as those sticks your about to order (3.7). See if the vaping is going to grow on you and then go spend more money on mods and stuff for fun.

The X9 is a knock off of the Kanger Pro tank ( which is a great clearomizer in itself). These tanks (clearomiozers) will be bigger (fatter in circumference) than the 900 batteries you are ordering so you may not like that. I don't really care myself. I just like a carefree heavy vape. The evod heads will fit on these tanks as replacements and I would suggest getting the lowest ohm heads as possible. When you go up in Ohms, that's when you need the extra bump in the volts ( thus variable volt mods like the e twist, vamo, provari, svd, mvp etc)
You really need to read and read these forums to make a more informed decision. But for 26 bucks for your kit and an x9, you cant go wrong. You just have to decide on ther juice.
Good luck sir !!

There are so many different types of electronic cigarette, its very confusing. I'm so glad that I found this forum. There is so much good info on here.

I ordered an eGo K starter kit, I'm hoping that it arrives in the post tomorrow. My only worry now is the battery, I hope the one I ordered has a battery that lasts.

What is the longest running battery? Which one lasts the most hours? Is it a low number mAH or a high number? Is mAH even the right term that I'm looking for?

Also, when my eGo K kit arrives and if the battery is not a long lasting one, then can I buy a stronger battery? Is it ok to change the battery in an electronic cigarette? Can I use any rechargeable battery?

I must check back to my order to see what strength battery my eGo K kit comes with. I never even thought of battery life until I read the theads on this forum. But now that I think of it, the strength of the battery is very important.

I have so much to learn about vaping. Its kind'a exciting! :)

OK, I just checked my order. My kit comes with: "Two eGo 900 mah lcd battery. 5 clicks on/off."

Can anyone tell me if that sounds like a long lasting battery? I know that it will most likely depend on how often I vap, but approximately how many hours should my battery last? I smoke at least 20 cigarettes a day, so I'm guessing I'll be vaping a lot at the start.

I'm glad that the kit comes with two batteries, I'll be able to keep the second battery ready and charged. :)

General rule of thumb, 100 mah = 1 hour vaping time. In the real world many people get a little less, depends on whether you chain vape, how long of a puff you take, and the resistance of your juice delivery system. Lower resistance clearos, etc, will drain the battery faster.

And you have the idea, keep one battery ready, and one in use. Good luck.

100 mah = 1 hour.

So could 900 mah last for 9 hours?

That would be amazing! Although I would be happy if a battery lasted 6 hours.

I'm getting so excited now! I really hope my eGo cig arrives tomorrow! I can't believe that I am excited about giving up cigarettes. But after reading all the amazing stories on this forum, I'm really excited to get started! Happy Days! :)

That is a general rule, your mileage may vary. I think you should get over 6, you may not get nine.

Just a heads up, when you have questions in the future, and you will have questions, don't be afraid to ask. Many good knowledgeable people around here who are willing to help. Good luck on your vaping journey.
