Throat Hit (TH) is the sensation of nicotine interacting with the receptors in the back of your throat. Some juices do this more than others, As well, menthol or mint flavors will do this. Occasionally, grain alcohol added to low nic juice will give this result.

Edit; As Anne states below, PG tends to give more TH than VG juices.

To me the term "throat hit" means when you close your throat and inhale by opening your mouth more and using your cheeks.

This is commonly referred to as "mouth hit".

I prefer chest hits for the record.

This would be commonly referred to as a "lung hit'.

Then, of course, is the mouth-to-lung hit. I believe most people inhale like this.

I can't say that I really got a "throat hit" with pre-mixed juices that compared at all to what I got from smoking. Sometimes it was too harsh on the throat, and other times it wasn't there at all. Now that I mix my own juice, I play around with the nic/PG and other ingredient amounts until I get it right. Usually I'll have to dilute the nic with more VG for more of a "full" feeling in my throat without the harsh burn. That's usually when it's just right for me.
