So, this has been going on for me for a few weeks, and it's making me nuts.

I'll be vaping, and my throat will swell up. It feels like there's something stuck in there, and it makes swallowing hard. A few times, I've gotten to the point where I feel like I'm gagging. Gagging, mind you, not suffocating. My breathing hasn't been affected, nor is there pain or soreness. I am staying quite hydrated.

The odd bit is this. With the same mod, tank and settings, the same flavor will be ok to chain vape all day one day, and the next day it triggers the response. I can't seem to find a consistent trigger - so I don't think it's ingredient related. Any thoughts?

To rule out the flavours completely you could vape unflavoured for a few days. Or vape straight PG for a day or 2, then straight VG for a time after that. If you really want to find the cause then you'll need to experiment. It is a hassle to do, but once you know what's causing the issue it's easy to avoid and vaping will be much more pleasurable for you. Cheers.

Yeah, I've got different ratios on order.

What I don't get though - if it's a specific allergy, why would it change day-to-day?

Different ratios may not give a definitive answer as you will still be ingesting the (possible) irritant.
Elimination process is the way to go. imo. It's what I would do but by all means approach the issue however you like.
As to why one day and not the other? Well in my experience as I get older more things, aches/pains etc. seem to occur with no rhyme or reason. They rear their ugly heads one day and a short time later disappear regardless of what I do.

Lot of glands in the neck area, could be a glandular issue. May want to have it looked into for your peace of mind. Cheers.

Takes a couple of days for some flavorings to do that to me.
Other flavorings never do it to me.
And since flavorings do not list all the ingredients it is impossible for me to narrow it down to one ingredient.
So the ones that cause me grief go down the drain.

the fist sign for me is if I get tingly lips from vaping the flavor.

Try taking loratadine when you fill like that. If symptomps dissapear after an hour, well its allergy obviously.
Since eliquid is basically composed of PG and VG, Go to an allergist and have a test on this components and common flavourings. The more info you have, it would be easier for you to choose the right liquid.

Good luck
