What were the pg/vg percentages with your previous liquids?
I think it's funny that everyone is giving advice on what to adjust the pg/vg ratio to without knowing the answer to this question. lol :D Heck, he might have been doing 100% pg and the vg is the problem for all that we know... or it could simply be the new flavoring.

Reading through the thread, I was thinking the same thing.

But since you don't know what's changed, I'll say this: Yes, higher pg affects a lot of people, including me. More so when I first started - I can tolerate some now, but early on, I switched to all vg. My sensitivity to pg wasn't coughing, though- it made my entire mouth feel like it does when you you burn your tongue or roof of your mouth with hot food.

But ever since I started, if I overdo vaping, I get something similar to what you're describing. A little, throat clearing cough- not productive, but still there. And it affects my voice, so I have to constantly clear my throat to talk. For me, I've always vaped similar to smoking- a little over 200 mtl hits per day, which is about 10 puffs per cig, times 20 cigs per day. If I go significantly over that, I still get the throat clearing issue.

That may not help, but it's hard to say what's causing this for you without really knowing all that's changed.

Maybe I'm vaping to much could this be a cause for it?

It wouldn't be my first guess, but are you vaping more than you used to? Actually, I'd start by wondering if you're just coming down with a cold. If not, I agree that sensitivity to either the PG or one of the flavourings in your new juice is a likely culprit.

How do you like your setup? As others have mentioned, most of us would consider it a bit dated. Then again, if you're happy and it's keeping you off cigarettes, it's doing all it needs to.

I'm happy with my set up I'm not one for big clouds I'm hoping to stop vaping when I've worked down to 0mg juice.

What’s a pound shop? Is this a store selling brand name e-juice, or one selling its own concoction?

Lots of good advice given. You are now challenged with employing a process of elimination. I would suggest writing down everything that has changed since you were able to vape cough free. This includes hardware – wire, wick, last time you cleaned your atomizer etc. Changes in juice - and keep in mind that similar flavour profiles can have different ingredients. Even a change in frequency in which you vape, which does not necessarily mean quantity. Chain vaping 2ml of juice in 10 mins could be the culprit vs casually vaping 2ml over the course of a day. By writing everything down you can begin to eliminate common factors and hopefully end up with the culprit.

Well, since you didn't mention that you were vaping more, but only the juice had changed, I kind of doubt it.

My post wasn't real clear, really. I guess kind of what I mean is that for me- too much pg causes irritation, and now that I vape pretty much all vg (except infrequent hits from my pods with 20%pg), overdoing it with vg gives me that little congestion. And I've heard others say that high vg has that effect on them. So I agree with the others, that you might try a higher pg mix and see how it goes.

Lots of good advice.

The fastest way to a prickly scratchy cough (or sneeze) that I know is a dry hit. Progressively getting to a lean vape will suddenly get you there too. Thin juice and over-power will get you dry right quick (like quickly repeated firing, chaining, as suggested).

Good point @BigPappa, has anything else changed?

To me sounds like a good juice. Anything that vacates the wick readily is vaporizing well. I'd add a tad of VG for ha-ha's.

Or, it it could just be a bad juice (if all else well). Move on and enjoy.

A better legacy low-power atomizer may help your enjoyment there.

Good luck. :)

p.s. Pity us when we get to the 5-pods-fit-all FDA universe.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm going to use it in a evod tank and see how I go

I think that's a good choice for a bottom coil clearomizer. Assuming you have a regular EVOD (not an EVOD 2 or EVOD Glass), I recommend the Kanger organic cotton coils called SOCC coils in 1.8 or 1.5 resistance. But if you like higher resistance coils, they have those too. Those EVOD tanks usually ship with coil heads that have silica wicks. Terrible flavor IMHO, and could, I suppose, be a source of tickly throat (hey you never know, anything's possible).

If you have an EVOD 2 or EVOD Glass, you'll need the Kanger VOCC-T coil heads if you want cotton wicks.

The only caution I have is if you have a clone EVOD clearomizer (which is very likely) sometimes the authentic kanger coils don't fit. I have EVOD clones and never had issues, but I have read on forums of other people that have had problems with using Kanger coils in them.

If you sip tentatively at a clearomizer, as some are inclined to do when starting or trying something new, the atomizer may overheat due to inadequate airflow to support vaporization. Small coils can get very hot when deprived of air and you will get a hot (wet) or dry hit after available juice is quickly drawn off.

You need the draw that the device and build require, MTL or DTL.

Good luck. :)
